"This is the Oracle Pager."
Fang Zheng smiled as he looked at the PSP-like device in his hand, which seemed to have a custom shell attached to it.
"Shaman King, huh? That really brings back memories."
After all, childhood memories were not so easily forgotten. Shaman King counted as one of Fang Zheng's childhood memories too. The premise of that anime was actually quite simple. Just as its name implied, shamans from the whole world gathered to take part in a grand tournament much like the World Martial Arts Tournament, and the winner would become the Shaman King.
The shamans participating in the battles would fight alongside the spirits they possessed. From that perspective, it was somewhat similar to the Holy Grail War. The difference was that the latter mainly relied on the Servants themselves to fight, while the Magus basically stood nearby cheering, whereas shamans fought together with their guardian spirits, merging their souls with their weapons through a form of possession and evolving in battle.
With that in mind, Esther and Lestia's appearance made sense. After all, they were Sword Spirits, and by Shaman King's standards, Fang Zheng, who possessed them, was indeed a shaman.
In the end, the victor of the Psychic Battle would obtain the most powerful existence in this world—the Great Soul—and merge with it to become a god.
So, put simply, all Fang Zheng had to do next was enter the shaman tournament, win the championship, and absorb the Great Soul.
That should be how it worked, right?
Still... he probably would not get along with the protagonist.
Thinking back on Shaman King's plot, Fang Zheng frowned. He had not finished the manga back then, nor did he know how it ended. But he still remembered Shaman King's protagonist, Asakura Yoh. By the standards
