With Fang Zheng's arrival, rumors about a "Card Duelist" soon began spreading among the players across Greed Island.

According to the rumors, the "Card Duelist" appeared to be a player, but he possessed an extremely bizarre ability. First, no card skill could be used on him. Whether it was spying on someone else's spellbook, stealing their cards, or casting some kind of skill on him, the moment someone tried it, they would be forcibly dragged into a card duel mode.

This was an entirely new mode that no other player had ever experienced. Put simply, it seemed to be a turn-based card duel where both sides used cards such as Magic Cards, Trap Cards, and Monster Cards to summon creatures and battle. The side whose LP dropped to zero would lose the match.

What was more, after losing a match, the victor could choose any card from the loser's spellbook and take it away.

Aside from that, only those with more than forty cards could enter challenge mode. If someone tried to be clever—for example, giving all their valuable cards to someone else and then deliberately attacking the "Card Duelist" while carrying only one or two cards—their card effects would be completely invalid.

Of course, there was another method: kill the "Card Duelist." Unfortunately... no one had succeeded so far.

If that were all, then people could simply keep their distance from the Card Duelist.

But... the problem was not that simple.

The reason was simple: many of the people who had challenged the "Card Duelist" possessed extremely valuable cards, including some with very high quantity limits.

As had been mentioned before, certain cards in Greed Island had quantity limits, and the higher-level the card, the more so.

For example, the maximum number of an SSS-rank item was three cards.
