After taking control of the base located within the volcanic crater, Fang Zheng immediately began planning its complete overhaul. Only Julie stayed behind with him, while the others intended to continue helping Eloi explore. Fang Zheng did not object. After all, he could not be bothered to go out and gather intelligence himself, and judging from the reports Ikaruga Sayu and the others had given earlier, Eloi's journey had all the hallmarks of a protagonist's adventure. For example, doors in other bases that nobody else could open would simply scan Eloi the moment she stood before them and grant her access.
Now that Eloi was trying to search for further clues and information, Fang Zheng naturally had no reason to stop her. Before leaving, however, Eloi made a request of him. According to her, a mysterious man seemed capable of seeing everything she saw through her holographic glasses. Although that man had provided Eloi with quite a bit of information, she clearly did not enjoy being secretly watched all the time, only for him to suddenly pop up and speak like a ghost.
So she hoped Fang Zheng could modify her holographic glasses somehow, at least so that guy who came and went without a trace would not keep slipping in whenever he pleased.
Fang Zheng naturally did not refuse. He casually put a lock on her holographic glasses. According to Eloi, that man was merely a tribesman who knew some ancient knowledge. Fang Zheng did not believe he had the ability to crack the encoding.
It was also a good opportunity to let Mikasa go out with them and get some exercise. After all... Fang Zheng had not brought Mikasa here to make her a maid.
Though Katima might think being a maid was not so bad.
