Fang Zheng later uses a Rose ring, bound by contract, to link You and Frostmourne into a magical-energy network. He can draw power from both sources and transmit it to Crimson, Suiseiseki, and Hinaichigo, allowing them to fight without drawing solely on Fang Zheng's soul 3047.

During a confrontation with an undead man connected to Kirizaki Kyoko, You objects to killing him and asks whether another option exists. Fang Zheng rebukes her reluctance to speak or kill, arguing that her fear of her own power has already enabled harm to others 3048 3049.

Later, You leaves the orphanage in search of her mother, Yumi, after receiving no recent letters and becoming worried by the contents of the last one.
