Background

Tang Hao became famous after breaking through to Titled Douluo and severely wounding Spirit Hall Pope Qian Xunji, who died shortly after returning to Spirit Hall. Qian Daoliu later pursued him, leaving Tang Hao with severe lingering injuries that his Soul Power could only barely suppress. 25 75

He concealed himself in Holy Soul Village as a blacksmith while raising Tang San. Tang Hao avoided meeting his son and remained in hiding because of enemies he could not confront alone, particularly Spirit Hall. 104

Tang Hao possessed a 100,000-year Soul Ring and the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Soul Bone. Kong later accused him of scheming against his own wife, the Blue Silver Emperor, for the ring; Tang Chen subsequently condemned Tang Hao's methods as despicable. 150 154 331

Appearance

Tang Hao initially presents himself as a beggar-like, middle-aged man with cloudy eyes rather than the bearing expected of a renowned Titled Douluo. 25

  • Wields the enormous Clear Sky Hammer, nearly 1.8 meters long when summoned. 25
  • His hammer bears white patterns gained after passing Slaughter City’s Hell Road and obtaining the Slaughter God Domain. 150
  • His old injuries worsen visibly when he relies on repeated Ring Detonation. 153 154

Personality

Tang Hao is ruthless, pragmatic, and convinced that strength is the only true authority. When confronted by Kong, he does not deny his cold-blooded actions and prioritizes the interests of the Clear Sky Sect over personal morality. 150

He is fiercely protective of Tang San, immediately exposing himself to save his son from the Titan Giant Ape. However, his protection is intertwined with ambition: he considers the Beast Kings and Xiao Wu potential future sources of 100,000-year Soul Rings for Tang San. 75 76

Tang Hao's confidence in his status and strength repeatedly leads him to underestimate Kong. Even after recognizing Kong's abnormal power, he chooses to force a decisive confrontation rather than retreat, believing Kong's death would be worth his own life if it removed a future threat to the Clear Sky Sect. 152 153

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao's martial soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, regarded as the world's number-one Weapon Martial Soul. 25 154

  • Possesses nine Soul Rings, including one 100,000-year red ring. 25
  • Uses overwhelming physical force and hammer techniques capable of challenging powerful opponents directly. 75 151

Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique

Tang Hao has mastered the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique, repeatedly rotating and striking to stack momentum and power. 151

  • Used against Kong after their initial exchange ends evenly. 151

Slaughter God Domain

Tang Hao gained the Slaughter God Domain after achieving one hundred victories in Slaughter City and passing the Hell Road. 151

  • Increases his own strength by approximately thirty percent. 151
  • Weakens opponents and exerts killing intent meant to break their fighting spirit. 151
  • Has little effect on Kong, whose Thunder God Domain overwhelms it with continuous lightning attacks. 151

Ring Detonation and Great Sumeru Hammer

Tang Hao can detonate his Soul Rings to convert their stored energy into explosive short-term power for the Great Sumeru Hammer. 76 153

  • Detonates his first and second rings while fighting the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python. 76
  • Temporarily raises his combat power to Levels 97, 98, and finally 99 by sacrificing additional rings. 153
  • The technique catastrophically worsens his pre-existing injuries and leaves him with no path to survival after the final battle. 153 154

Clear Sky True Body

Tang Hao's seventh Soul Skill manifests the Clear Sky Hammer on a massive scale. 76 152

  • Combines with the Great Sumeru Hammer to produce a crimson-gold hammer strike. 76
  • Enlarges the hammerhead to the size of a small mountain during his battle with Kong. 152

  • Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Soul Bone — a 100,000-year Soul Bone among Tang Hao's possessions. 154

Story Role / Major Arcs

Suotuo City and Xiao Wu's Claim

Tang Hao intercepts Kong and two Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan Soul Douluo after they identify Xiao Wu as a transformed 100,000-year Soul Beast. He reveals his Titled Douluo status, claims Xiao Wu for the Clear Sky Sect, and demands that the clan cease pursuing her. 25

Kong refuses to yield without compensation. To protect Xiao Wu from the clan, Tang Hao gives up a 23,000-year Left Leg Soul Bone in exchange for their sworn withdrawal. 26

Battle in Star Dou Great Forest

Tang Hao reveals himself to save Tang San from the Titan Giant Ape. Xiao Wu identifies him as a human who possesses a 100,000-year Soul Ring, prompting the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python to treat him as a mortal enemy. 75

While fighting both Beast Kings, Tang Hao uses Clear Sky True Body, Ring Detonation, and the Great Sumeru Hammer. His injuries worsen severely, and he ultimately escapes after detonating more Soul Rings. 76 80

Assassination Attempt on Kong

After observing Kong's rapid growth from Level 62 to approximately Level 73 in less than half a year, Tang Hao decides that Kong has become too dangerous for the Clear Sky Sect to ignore. He emerges from hiding and attempts to kill him outside Heaven Dou City. 149

Tang Hao's Slaughter God Domain and conventional attacks fail to decisively suppress Kong. He escalates to Clear Sky True Body, Ring Detonation, and the Great Sumeru Hammer as Kong's Thunder God Domain continuously slows and damages him. 151 152 153

Death

Facing Kong's Segmented Devastation, Tang Hao detonates his remaining Soul Rings and attempts to block the attack head-on with the Clear Sky Hammer. The attack cuts through the hammer and splits Tang Hao in two, killing him. 153 154

His death leaves behind seven Soul Bones and remains unknown to Tang San for years. 155 230

Posthumous Reputation

Tang Hao's reputation continues to influence others after his death. Tang San invokes his name for protection, while Titan remains devoted to him despite the grievances of the Break Clan and other affiliated clans. 267 346 352

Tang Chen's records eventually expose Tang Hao's attempted assassination of Kong and connect the Clear Sky Sect's conflict with Spirit Hall to Tang Hao's pursuit of a 100,000-year Soul Ring. 377
