"Damn it."
Obito was truly stunned at that moment, because he felt as though everything had come full circle.
Back then, hadn't Minato Namikaze defeated him in exactly this way? And now, he had been defeated the same way again?
The feeling left Obito utterly bewildered. No matter how hard he thought about it, he couldn't understand what was going on!
Why?
Why was it that, despite possessing Kamui, he always lost to the Flying Thunder God?
Were all those who wielded the Flying Thunder God destined to counter him to death?
Obito's gaze was filled with hatred. Gritting his teeth against the searing pain, he phased out of the battlefield.
He stood atop a large tree, staring fixedly at Hidezawa. That hate-filled gaze seemed intent on tearing him apart completely!
"Don't look at me like that. I told you, I discovered one of your little secrets."
Hidezawa shrugged. He had already deactivated all his abilities and looked calmly at Obito as he spoke slowly.
"Although I can't figure out why you possess such an ability, the Sharingan normally shouldn't have powers like this.
But whatever the case, perhaps bloodline clans are special. Still, you only have one Sharingan exposed.
For the Sharingan to display its full power, it should require both eyes. Your ability is probably the same, which is why I noticed that your spatial technique isn't as fast as I imagined."
Hidezawa's words left Obito somewhat silent. He had to admit that it was true.
The Sharingan had always come in pairs, and only a complete pair of Sharingan could fully unleash their power.
But he had left one of his Sharingan to Kakashi. As far as he was concerned, there was no reason to take back something he had given away.
Even if he did take it back, it would only be within the world he created completely!
Yet he had never expected that this very factor would give the guy before him an opening?
"Slow means there's an opportunity."
Hidezawa held a kunai in his hand, his back to the moonlight as he spoke calmly.
"And I also noticed that whenever someone attacks you, you phase through it. But once you make a move, you're probably solid.
So all I have to do is wait until you attack, then strike you. Am I right?"
Obito clenched his fists even tighter. The moment he attacked was his flaw—his opponent's opportunity.
The feeling made him feel as though he was once again facing his former teacher, Minato Namikaze!
Back then, Minato had only exchanged a few moves with him, yet he had already figured out his weakness and exploited it.
And now, the guy before him was the same—perhaps even faster than Minato Namikaze?
Could this guy be another Minato Namikaze?
Obito gritted his teeth and muttered inwardly. He seemed to have forgotten that only minutes ago, he had been certain: You're not Minato Namikaze!
"Oh, right. I noticed something else, too."
Just as Obito's fury reached its peak, Hidezawa suddenly spoke again.
He leisurely took out a signal flare, lit it, and sent it soaring into the sky before he smiled faintly.
"Your eyes are quite interesting. Kakashi's eye is a left Sharingan, while yours is a right Sharingan.
Combined with the fact that you always cover your left eye, and that you most likely lost one eye, could you be Obito Uchiha—the one who was said to have died on Kannabi Bridge back then?"
"You!"
Hidezawa's words were like a bucket of cold water, instantly soaking Obito to the bone!
He stared at Hidezawa in utter shock. He couldn't understand how this guy had made that connection.
Even his teacher hadn't realized it back then!
Although he had attacked his teacher's son and even gone after Kushina, Minato Namikaze had truly overlooked him completely. He had never recognized him at all.
Even the people closest to him hadn't recognized him, yet this stranger—someone he had met only minutes ago and fought repeatedly—had recognized him?
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
Though his entire body trembled uncontrollably, Obito still spoke in an icy voice.
"Obito Uchiha? I don't know who that is. But I do know that you don't seem afraid of dying. You actually plan to call for reinforcements?"
"It's already over."
Hidezawa nodded unhurriedly. He had shown everything that needed to be shown, and there was no need to continue this battle.
He raised the kunai in his hand and waved it casually as he spoke at an unhurried pace.
"I think this can prove who I am."
"A kunai?"
Obito's expression changed slightly. He suddenly remembered that behind him was the "gift" his teacher had left him!
"Flying Thunder God Mark?"
"The Fourth Hokage himself served as my witness. At first, I thought my senses were wrong, but it turned out I was right."
Keeping his gaze away from Obito's eyes, Hidezawa smiled calmly.
"And if nothing unexpected happened, you were the one behind the Nine-Tails incident back then, weren't you?
"Otherwise, you wouldn't have this kind of mark. I really didn't expect to catch such a big fish tonight.
"Lord Danzo was right after all. The Uchiha Clan truly is Konohagakure's evil—Obito Uchiha!"
"..."
Obito was completely speechless. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined things would develop to this point.
That brat had only just started learning the Flying Thunder God. How had he already reached this level?
And not only that—the Flying Thunder God Mark Minato Namikaze had left behind all those years ago had actually helped this little brat, causing all his plans to go bankrupt!
That damned brat, and Danzo, who taught him—they both deserved to die!
Buzz—
Obito stared at Hidezawa for a long while. When he heard dense footsteps approaching from all around, he took a deep breath.
The next moment, Chakra rippled around him, and his entire body twisted into a spiral before swiftly vanishing from where he stood.
"He didn't even try to deny it. So he was basically admitting it?"
Hidezawa looked at the spot where Obito had disappeared, tilting his head as he thought to himself.
Still, he figured Obito had probably been thoroughly enraged by him, and he also had no desire to meet the other Konohagakure Anbu.
Especially Kakashi.
"Besides, he'll probably have to think long and hard about how to erase the Flying Thunder God Mark, won't he?"
Hidezawa stroked his chin. Removing a Flying Thunder God Mark was no simple matter.
At the very least, in the original story, Obito still hadn't managed it by the time of the Fourth Shinobi World War, and Minato Namikaze had used that mark to mess him up badly.
For Hidezawa, having that mark was the best proof. Of course, his words alone proved nothing—but what if someone could testify for him?
Walking slowly over to Itachi Uchiha, Hidezawa gave him a kick.
"You've been listening for so long. Still pretending?"
"...Senior, that was quite a heavy kick."
Itachi Uchiha weakly opened his eyes. He had indeed woken up long ago—woken by the pain.
While Hidezawa had been fighting that mysterious Uchiha, he had quietly given Itachi a kick.
His unconsciousness had not been that deep to begin with, so the intense pain naturally jolted him awake. Still, he had maintained a ninja's discipline and dared not move even a fraction.
Naturally, he had heard everything—and secretly observed it all as well.
"Not that heavy."
Hidezawa shook his head. Looking up at the Anbu ninja who had appeared on the surrounding beams, he suddenly smiled faintly.
"At least it's better than dying in the wilderness and leaving behind no body to be found, right?"
