"What do you think would happen if I smacked it with a brick?"

Watching the multicolored giant sphere floating leisurely amid the murky dust clouds in the distance, utterly ignoring everyone present, Viska pulled her golden Bible from Personal Space. She swung it around twice by the chain attached to it and spoke.

"Don't mess around. Be serious." I sternly—no, righteously—stopped Ice Sister from engaging in this suicidal behavior that was basically welding detonators and sawing light bulbs. Then I turned my gaze to the sphere. We had only just arrived and had yet to make formal contact with it, but we could already see workships and divine servant soldiers bustling about. They were removing Autonomous Machines and various strange devices from the site, because those things had been proven completely useless—aside from confirming how hard the target's shell was and how feeble their scanning equipment was.

The facts had proven that while physical contact caused some sort of stress response in this massive sphere one kilometer in diameter, it did not trigger dangers such as explosions. It seemed to lack any real counterattack capability. So, after the workers on-site had cleared away their equipment, Viska and I boldly approached the sphere. Viska even reached out and knocked on it.

Naturally, there was no sound in the vacuum. All we could see was a ripple of multicolored halos spreading from where Viska's fingers touched the sphere's surface. The halos gradually faded before extending even half a meter. I observed carefully and found that the material covering the sphere really did resemble crystal, or uneven glass. Those multicolored drifting patches were actually moving beneath that layer of "glass." It felt... like a hollow glass ball filled with incompatible oil paints.

"Huh, pretty hard. Sounds like diamond when you knock on it."
