(Well, it was still early in the month before the tenth, so I might as well ask for monthly votes and subscriptions. It wasn't like I had anything better to do...)

Based on Sandora's personal speculation, if we first assumed that the Fallen Apostles had established a "radar" network using Abyss Gates as its network skeleton and information base stations as nodes, then that network's coverage should extend throughout Fallen Apostle territory and one "Quadrant Unit" beyond its borders. Any area within that range could potentially be scanned by this Abyss Information Network.

Then I started calculating just how large a Quadrant Unit was in the void. This Quadrant Unit was related in name to a Void Quadrant, but they were not the same thing. The latter could be regarded as a division like Earth's time zones, while the former was a unit of "distance," referring to the information displacement spanning an entire quadrant in the void. In the void, information displacement—or data displacement—was the only way to describe "void distance," and it was generally expressed as a percentage. One percent of data displacement could transfer an entity from one world to another, and was called One Unit. This was a relatively small unit, usually suitable only for short-range void cruising—that was, travel within a single quadrant. Even ten thousand percent of data displacement could only count as short-range cruising. For cross-quadrant travel, a larger unit had to be used: the Quadrant Unit. One Quadrant Unit represented the information displacement of an entire Void Quadrant. The hard part to understand was this: there was no conversion between One Unit of data displacement and the Quadrant Unit used for cross-quadrant travel...

Although both described "distance" in the void, and one was a small unit while the other was a large one.
