I had accidentally heard from Alaya that Aurelia had a "surprise"—Alaya was no longer that muddleheaded sleepyhead who dozed off every day and was listless from Conceptual Division. She was responsible for much of Heavenly City's reconstruction work and was also Aurelia's Commander, so she was always the first to know what happened in Heavenly City. When she returned to my mental world to sleep at night, Angel Sister would habitually chat with me about recent events in Heavenly City, including Aurelia's surprise. However, she had not told me what that surprise actually was. Aurelia had only just finished assembling this Angel Legion and had not yet completed its organizational integration and information networking. Only now, seeing it with my own eyes, did I understand that the so-called surprise was the first fully staffed regular Mystic System force—the Angel Legion.
Before me stood a magnificent formation wreathed in holy light. Magnificent might have sounded strange as a description for a formation, but it was the only word that perfectly conveyed how I felt: you had no idea what kind of presence was created when these powerful beings, brimming with sacredness and bearing enormous wings upon their backs, assembled into ranks. It was a feeling that even facing countless ordinary soldiers could hardly evoke. Of course, legions of Imperial Soldiers carrying massive cannons could bring the same degree of pressure, but they felt completely different from the Angel Legion.
After all, the latter was much brighter...
We stood at the edge of the platform atop the Angel Wall. Beyond the platform, thirty-five thousand newly born Shilin Angels had formed ranks in midair, hovering with absolute order and silence. They had uniform silver-white hair, close-fitting silver-white light armor, and enormous white wings behind them, all of which formed a pure-white battle formation.
