Of course, that arrangement had been made by Sandora out of concern for his safety, but ordinary people never liked having their freedom restricted. Apostles might be able to stand guard in one place for ten thousand years because of a single order, but the ancestors clearly could not live by an Apostle's behavioral standards. Sandora had been thrown into confusion by her concern and had probably overlooked that point. On top of that, she had been busy lately, so we had practically kept the Old Ancestors confined like prisoners for all this time...
The scenery beyond the Military District was utterly different from that within its walls. The latter was a stern, rigid military garrison, and Imperial soldiers, who demanded very little from their personal lives, naturally would not spend effort setting up entertainment venues inside the Military District. Outside, however, civilians from every race had brought the finest and most distinctive things from their worlds. While desperately displaying their worlds' unique cultures, they had also created an endless, dazzling exposition. The farther one got from the Military District, the more prosperous it became. It was the exact opposite of an ordinary city. I doubted they had ever seen a city where the downtown area was deserted and the bustling district only began beyond the second ring road. Fortunately, Shadow City had a convenient teleportation system. Otherwise, this would definitely count as distorted development...
"Oh, so it's this lively and bustling outside." The ancestor named Lu was probably more active than the others because she was young. She had been a little confused at first, but she soon realized that the world outside was far friendlier than that heavily guarded military base filled
