Abyss Shilin went to great lengths to explain the form and construction method of the Activation Terminal. Much of it involved abstract, obscure technical terminology, but I could still roughly understand what it all meant in the end:
The Activation Terminal was something unlike any existing technology. It was neither science nor arcane energy, nor was it divine magic of the Godrace or any other mysterious body of knowledge. The technology required to construct an Activation Terminal belonged to no classifiable "tech tree." It seemed closer to the source of the Void itself, so it was very likely invented personally by the previous generation of Void Creatures on the other side. In any case, it was not the product of mortals or the Godrace. But its inventors had now had their memories erased by the Cataclysm, and no one knew the true principles behind the Activation Terminal.
We only had a few processing procedures. All we could do was follow them.
That was why Abyss Shilin had no choice but to use World Hearts as material for making Activation Terminals. She simply had no idea what other "raw materials" could be used. She did not even fully understand what role a World Heart played in this process—the essence of a World Heart was a mass of abstract data, yet the Activation Terminal ultimately took on a physical form. The process in between was a mystery. Abyss Shilin had observed the entire process, yet she could not understand it at all.
Perhaps Void Creatures could comprehend the process through their unique perspective—after all, it might originally have been conceived by some clever compatriot on the other side—but clearly, there was no time for me and the other two old-timers to slowly study it now.
"So the 'blueprints' for constructing the Activation
