To break through the Wall of Sighs, three Armored Scorpions had already snapped off their own tails. When they came off the production line, they clearly hadn't properly downloaded data on specialized shields, and they had far too much confidence in their tails—which wasn't unusual among Armored Scorpions. These cold-weapon fanatics were only interested in studying how to chop people, chop armor, and effectively use their own tails. They had little enthusiasm for things like Energy Shields, which seemed soft and squishy in their eyes.

But today, they had encountered something that wasn't soft.
