The Pilgrim's Road was the broadest avenue on the front side of Olympus Mountain, built from incredibly sturdy artificial "rock." It could accommodate at least a dozen cars driving side by side. This broad road wound upward along the slopes of Olympus, passing twelve temples on the mountain—the energy output and control points of the Sunscorched Obelisk. Of course, they were now all occupied by monsters. Some had once been warriors and servants of the temples, while more were mythical behemoths from a bygone age that had guarded the temples' peace.
Amid dazzling flashes of electricity, two Armored Scorpions crashed down from dozens of meters in the air, utterly crushing the last two Obsidian Sphinxes before us. Then the group continued onward.
"These are Arcane Stone Golems that originally stood as statues at the temple gates. It seems the energy leaking from the Sunscorched Obelisk activated these sturdy magical constructs, and they were later contaminated by demonic aura." As Ares passed the pile of Obsidian Shards on the ground, he could not help muttering. Blood on his greatsword was still giving off unnaturally scorching steam—the boiling blood left behind after he had slain the Minotaur. This super soldier of immense strength was even more formidable in close combat than mass-produced Armored Scorpions. He had already sliced apart at least a hundred monsters with the door-sized sword in his hand, yet he was not even out of breath.
"The last temple is ahead. Above it, the remaining energy of the Sunscorched Obelisk is still keeping the Zeus Temple operational. A Psionic Shield protects the summit." Sandora looked up. "We haven't seen Zeus strike the enemy with lightning for several minutes. We need to hurry."
"Let's hope your dad just needed to catch his breath." I patted Ares on the elbow, but
