Among the Dark God Race's architecture, "towers" were extremely important things: bell towers, lighthouses, library towers, and Type IV Void Nodes. The earliest Void Nodes usually took the form of either massive castles or domed palaces; the tower-shaped Void Nodes of today had been redesigned by the Supreme Dark Goddess according to her own preferences. We happened to pass one such Node, and at first I had thought all Void Nodes were towers.
The Dark God Race's fondness for towers might have been related to their leader—the Supreme Dark Goddess—favoring that kind of architecture. No matter what they built, they liked to embellish it with one or two towers, always placing them just right without making them seem out of place. These tall, slender spires gave the Dark God Race's palaces an air of elegance and mystery. They could be considered one of the countless artistic treasures accumulated over the Divine Race's endless years: for a race with an infinite lifespan, maintaining a single hobby for so long was no easy feat.
Viska's home—well, let us accurately call this ferocious home a palace—naturally had towers as well. They were the four enormous bell towers we had seen at the beginning, standing at the palace's four corners. They were Uncle Kuwa Yin's proudest designs, and each tower had its own meaning. The first had been designed when Uncle came of age and was named Kuwa Yin Clock Tower. The second commemorated his successful pursuit of a girl, and was thus called Aisha Li Tower. The third commemorated Viska's birth, so naturally it was called Viska's Tower. The fourth was for symmetry.
The meanings behind the four towers were so clear, but Viska herself rarely referred to her family's towers so properly. Our free-spirited Goddess liked to randomly rename the lighthouses in
