The elite landing troops dispatched from the Empire Admiral rapidly established their positions under the cover of the Leader Bees. Though deadly artillery fire constantly screamed overhead, the soldiers still worked at high speed with the meticulous precision of interlocking gears. The ground, once bare except for shattered rocks and twisted metal, was now covered in a gleaming layer of ultra-strength Interstellar Alloy. These fast-growing alloys ensured energy sharing and structural stability for every facility in the entire position. Then the soldiers took out emplacement weapons suited to their respective branches from their Different Dimension equipment slots. Ordinary troops built sturdy, heavy small bunkers designed specifically to deal with infantry and agents. Heavy infantry summoned enormous emplacement cannons. Slow-firing but terrifyingly powerful, these cannons required three soldiers to supply energy together. They fused half their bodies into the massive guns, aimed at the enemy troops steadily pressing forward in the distance, and bombarded them furiously. Light infantry deployed countless individual anti-air turrets near the inner perimeter of the position. These triple-mounted psionic anti-air guns were modified from warship anti-air cannons. Their power had been reduced, but so had their energy consumption, allowing ordinary soldiers to operate them. They were perfect for atmospheric air-defense missions. Their only drawback was their extremely poor defensive capability, sacrificed to ensure fast targeting and manageable energy demands for ordinary soldiers. They could only be used within the inner perimeter, under the protection of other individual fortifications.
As these conventional weapons were steadily brought online, we gradually began reversing the situation where we had initially been pinned down under bombardment.
The firepower of ordinary soldiers gradually replaced that of the Hero Combat Soldiers. Though their attacks were much weaker and often blocked by the enemy soldiers' Psionic Shields, they had overwhelming numbers and covered a vast
