Everyone at the Martial Hall knew Fang Mo was about to be expelled.
After so much time, he had originally earned the other students' recognition. But once this happened, the way everyone looked at him became somewhat distant again.
First, a gang had snatched people off the street. Now, the Martial Arts Association was suppressing him. No one wanted to get too close to him, lest they be dragged into it.
Fang Mo did not ask the hall master about it. He trained like mad, condensing all his hatred into his training.
When he came to this world, he had only wanted to quietly pursue the martial path. But why was there always someone refusing to let him have his way? He bore no grudge against anyone, so why would these people not leave him a way out?
"Why?!"
Fang Mo roared inwardly, his fist smashing into the sandbag. The hundred-kilogram-plus bag swung wildly from the blow.
The sandbag swayed back and forth, just like his life—mercilessly kicked and beaten by others, unable to control itself!
"No. My fate is mine, not Heaven's. No one can block my path!"
Fang Mo reached out and steadied the sandbag, icy light bursting from his eyes.
That night, after dinner, he took a Medicinal Bath.
Then, for the first time, Fang Mo left the Martial Hall without continuing to train alone.
Everyone in the Martial Hall found it strange. This martial arts fanatic had actually not trained today, and he had gone out so early.
Could it be that he knew he was about to be thrown out and no longer planned to train?
Fang Mo did not care what the others thought. After leaving the Martial Hall, he quietly checked around and found no one tailing him. Still, he carefully slipped through the alleys, changed into another set of clothes, and left through a different alley.
After turning past two intersections, he hailed a taxi.
The car passed Uncle Liu's Steamed Bun Shop. Seeing that it was closed, he felt puzzled.
Uncle Liu's business was so good. Why had he closed up? Could something have happened?
But Fang Mo did not dwell on it. After the taxi had gone several miles, he switched to another one before heading straight for his destination—the Iron Stone Boxing Gym.
The Iron Stone Boxing Gym was located on the second underground floor of Huijiang Mansion.
Standing before the building, he could see the blue-glowing sign flashing above.
A boxing gym was different from a Martial Hall.
A Martial Hall mainly taught people martial arts, while a boxing gym was mainly for training. Many martial artists came here for combat training to improve their real combat skills. The Iron Stone Boxing Gym was different still. It not only offered ordinary sparring training, but also underground fights and gambling matches.
Fang Mo steadied himself, entered the building, and took the elevator down to the second underground floor.
If he wanted to improve quickly, he could no longer follow the rules step by step. He needed a path that would raise his combat strength faster. He had originally planned to wait before coming here, but now he could not wait any longer.
The elevator doors opened, and the name Iron Stone Boxing Gym appeared before him. Glass doors blocked the way, with two burly men standing in front of them.
The men looked Fang Mo up and down, their brows creasing slightly. "Are you here to train?"
Fang Mo stepped forward. "A friend introduced me. I want to take part in ring matches!"
"You... want to fight in the ring?"
The two stared at Fang Mo in surprise, suspicion in their eyes. One said impatiently, "Go on, get out of here. This is a boxing gym. If you want to play around, go somewhere else."
Although Fang Mo had been practicing for nearly two months and had grown sturdier, he still looked thin compared to many others.
"If this weren't a boxing gym, I wouldn't have come."
Fang Mo's voice was calm.
The two men paused slightly. One of them said coldly, "If you want to court death, no one can stop you!"
"Come with me!"
As he spoke, he swiped open the access door. Fang Mo followed him into the boxing gym.
A vast space stretched before him, with five boxing rings over ten meters across. People were sparring on every ring.
Fang Mo took a look. They were all ordinary martial artists. Not one had reached Ming Jin, and they were all fairly young.
Their opponents were Sparring Partners hired by the boxing gym. Usually, their role was simply to take hits as they fought while wearing protective gear.
The reason Fang Mo had not chosen to become a Sparring Partner was because that level of confrontation was too low. Most of it was like accompanying a Young Master while he studied—you could not fight back too hard. It would do nothing for his progress. He might as well spar with his senior brothers and junior brothers at the Martial Hall.
The burly man led Fang Mo to an office farther inside. Sitting in the office was a stunning woman around twenty-seven or twenty-eight.
"Manager Xu, this guy wants to fight in the ring!"
The burly man spoke respectfully to the woman.
The woman raised her head, her gaze falling on Fang Mo as she looked him over.
Fang Mo was also observing the woman before him. She had a lean, graceful figure and wore a white shirt, her chest not particularly prominent. She had an oval face, a pointed chin, delicate features, and wine-red hair falling over her shoulders. Diamond studs glittered beneath the lights on her fair exposed earlobes. Her entire bearing radiated competence.
The woman stood up. She was a head taller than Fang Mo, at least one meter seventy-five.
Unlike the burly man, she did not judge by appearances. With a slight smile, she extended her hand. "Xu Manli, manager of the Iron Stone Boxing Gym. How should I address you, sir?"
"Fang Mo. The Mo from Ink Painting."
Fang Mo reached out and shook her hand. Her jade-like hand was soft and boneless. A thought rose in his heart. So soft. This woman has a special physique.
"A fine name! It has quite an artistic charm!"
Xu Manli smiled faintly and withdrew her hand, motioning for the burly man to leave. She gestured toward a seat. "Please sit, Mr. Fang."
Fang Mo sat down. Xu Manli poured him a glass of water and placed it before him, then sat down gracefully as well. "Mr. Fang, forgive my presumption, but what realm are you in?"
"Strength Training Realm. I haven't entered Ming Jin yet."
Fang Mo answered directly.
Xu Manli smiled slightly. "Then does Mr. Fang know the rules of the Underground Boxing Gym? Matches are extremely dangerous. Once you step into the ring, we cannot guarantee your safety. Injury and disability are both possible, and even death is possible!"
"I know."
Fang Mo replied calmly.
Xu Manli watched Fang Mo with eyes like a clear spring, as if trying to see through him. After more than ten seconds, she stood up.
"Fine. Since Mr. Fang understands, come with me!"
Fang Mo stood as well and followed Xu Manli out of the room and into the room next door. There were testing machines inside. When he saw Xu Manli enter, a burly man in the room stood up.
"Test him."
Xu Manli said this to the man before looking at Fang Mo.
"Mr. Fang, we need to test your strength now. If you meet the requirements, we can arrange a match for you. If you fail to meet them, then we cannot arrange one."
"Alright."
Fang Mo nodded. He stepped forward as the burly man had already activated the machine. Fang Mo stood before the Strength Tester, planted his feet, assumed the Tiger Stance, and calmed his mind and breath.
Xu Manli watched quietly. She did not think highly of Fang Mo either. Judging by his build, he did not look like someone who practiced martial arts at all.
Suddenly, Fang Mo's eyes flew open. His body moved in an instant, and his fist shot out, smashing heavily into the target.
Bang!
A dull thud rang out as the numbers on the machine jumped rapidly.
A beep sounded, and the numbers stopped.
"240 kilograms!"
Surprise appeared on Xu Manli's face. Her gaze swept over Fang Mo's body. She could not believe such a thin frame could unleash such terrifying strength. Though it was not especially outstanding, she had thought he would only manage around 150 or 160 kilograms at most.
This was beyond her expectations.
"Manager Xu, does this result meet the standard?"
Fang Mo looked at Xu Manli. He had secretly tested himself at the Martial Hall and knew his current strength. He could actually strike with 280 kilograms of force.
On Earth in his previous life, even the mighty Tyson could only throw a punch of around 260 kilograms. Yet Fang Mo had already surpassed Tyson before even reaching Ming Jin. Once he entered Ming Jin, any casual strike would carry several hundred kilograms of force.
Guan Lu had kicked a car weighing over a ton more than a meter away. Her strength had to be in the thousands of kilograms.
That was what made martial artists in this world so terrifying.
"Yes, it does. You more than meet the standard!"
Xu Manli immediately said with a smile.
"Mr. Fang, please come with me to register!"
Xu Manli was clearly far more enthusiastic than before. Looking at Fang Mo's numbers, she had already formed an initial idea in her mind.
Fang Mo's appearance could completely exploit the information gap. If his combat strength was sufficient, he could become a major attraction for the boxing gym and bring it greater profits.
