Three Max-Level Unforgivable Curses at the Start

The faint morning light struggled through the tiny window, spilling into the cramped basement room.

Dylan Hawkwood stared blankly at the envelope on the table.

Moments earlier, as usual, he had pushed open the window, hoping the fresh air would dispel the stuffiness of the night.

But then an Owl swooped in with a whoosh, riding the gusting wind as it fluttered straight through the window.

The thing was incredibly reckless. Its wings flapped wildly, nearly knocking over the candlestick on the table before it landed crookedly on the old wooden desk.

A letter was tied securely to its leg—the very envelope now before Dylan.

At first, Dylan had not paid it much attention.

But just as he was about to shoo the Owl away, he caught sight of the distinctive emblem on the envelope—

A shield bearing the letter "H," surrounded by a majestic lion, a soaring eagle, a sturdy badger, and a cunning snake.

Above and below the crest, two exquisite ribbons were embroidered with the words "Hogwarts" and "Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus."

In an instant, his expression froze, as if a bolt of lightning from the depths of his memory had struck him.

"Hogwarts??"

Familiar yet alien elements crashed through the floodgates of his memory like a raging tide.

Hermione and her two weaknesses?

"I'm actually in the world of Harry Potter?"

Dylan had always thought he had traveled through time to historical England.

Yet ever since childhood, he had never received any cheat ability.

His parents were both inconspicuous office workers at an ordinary company, and his family was poor as well.

Over the past ten years, Dylan had finally given up fantasizing about cheat abilities.

He had only wanted to rely on his knowledge of future technological trends to stockpile some shares and live comfortably without worries. That had been the ultimate pursuit of his life.

But this letter ruthlessly shattered his beautiful dream!

This world was far more complicated than he had imagined. Even if he accumulated wealth in the future, it could vanish at any moment!

After all, those damn wizards only needed to wave their Magic Wands and mutter a few spells.

Legilimency, the Imperius Curse—

One cast was all it took to manipulate his thoughts however they pleased.

And even then, he would still have to pray that they did not intend to take his life.

If he ran into some vicious wizard, one flash of Avada Kedavra and his little life would be over in an instant!

At that thought, Dylan's lazy back abruptly straightened as a sense of crisis descended upon him.

Dylan removed the envelope from the Owl, and the Owl flew out through the window.

"Still, at least I have a chance to learn magic now."

Since he had received an admission letter from Hogwarts, it meant he could study magic and had a chance to protect himself.

Before buying stocks, he needed to learn a few spells for escaping and self-defense first!

Dylan secretly made up his mind to focus on studying magic at Hogwarts.

He would prioritize all kinds of Protection Charms and max out his defenses first!

Once his wings had fully grown, he could sneak back to the Muggle World and live freely ever after. Perfect~

Dylan stared at the envelope for a long time.

Finally, he reached out, his fingertips trembling slightly as he opened it and pulled out the Parchment inside.

Just as Dylan finished reading the final line, a strange interface suddenly appeared before his eyes.

"Hm?"

Dylan froze.

Could this be... the cheat ability that had arrived ten years late?!

Excitement rose in Dylan's heart, and he hurriedly began examining its contents.

"Achievement System?"

The system interface was divided into four sections—Wizard's Hat, Magic Scroll, Magic Wand, and Magic Book.

The Wizard's Hat icon represented his personal information.

After opening it, aside from his lone name, the spell section was completely empty—after all, he currently knew nothing at all.

After opening it, the quest section was still empty.

But there was one lit achievement in the achievements section—

Description: You have received Magic's Favor! Experience this world filled with magic and Muggles!

Unlock Requirement: First contact with a magical event.

Achievement Reward: Hogwarts New Student Gift Package.

He opened the Magic Wand icon.

Another page appeared.

Dylan glanced over it and realized it was a tool that could help him refine spells.

As for the Magic Book icon, he could not open it. It was shrouded in mystery and offered no prompts, leaving him completely baffled.

"It really is my cheat ability!" Dylan rubbed his hands together, his gaze eagerly falling upon the small gift package in his Inventory.

He opened it.

A new System Prompt popped up.

New Student Gift Package: Upon opening, you will receive one Magical Creature and three Max Level Spells!

"What? Three Max Level Spells??"

Dylan's eyes lit up.

This gift package—

It gave Max Level Spells right from the start?

Holy crap!

Just thinking about it was exciting!

"There are so many spells, but I can only draw three. The chances of getting something like the Patronus Charm are probably pretty low."

With Max Level Spells as a foundation, Dylan was no longer all that excited about the Magical Creature.

Whatever he got, he got. At least it would save him from having to buy one.

Filled with nervous anticipation, Dylan opened the gift package.

In an instant, four pillars of golden light shot upward, soaring into the clouds at the top of the interface like dazzling stars descending into the world!

Dylan's heartbeat abruptly quickened!

Three of the golden stars continuously changed shape before suddenly bursting apart, transforming into black mist that swirled through the sky like black holes!

The next second, three streams of magical knowledge flooded into his mind.

Dylan saw countless figures—not only humans, but all kinds of strange creatures as well.

And he stood before those beings, waving the Magic Wand in his hand.

The first swing.

"Ahhh—!"

The group at the very front collapsed to the ground, rolling back and forth in agony as their wails and screams continued without end.

The second swing.

"Thud."

The group in the middle was struck by green light. They stiffened and fell instantly, their bodies going limp as all sound faded away.

The third swing.

The people at the back became hollow-eyed, like puppets.

Message: Congratulations, you have mastered Max Level Magic—Crucio!

Message: Congratulations, you have mastered Max Level Magic—Avada Kedavra!

Message: Congratulations, you have mastered Max Level Magic—Imperio!

Countless whispers rang in Dylan's ears.

The incantations overlapped, their voices deeply branding themselves into his soul.

Dylan even felt that he no longer needed a Magic Wand to cast these three spells with ease.

Yet when he saw the three Max Level Spells in his spell list, Dylan's vision suddenly went black.

"I-I'm not seeing things, am I?"

Dylan closed his eyes, almost afraid to open them.

But he did not need to look at the spell list at all.

The Three Unforgivable Curses that obeyed his will like his own limbs vividly demonstrated in his mind exactly how to torture others.

"I'm seriously speechless. System, what the hell are you trying to do? Are you trying to get me arrested the moment I enroll and make me rot at the bottom of Azkaban?!"
