"Professor Quirrell..."
Professor Flitwick cleared his throat.
Quirrell had graduated from Ravenclaw, and so had Professor Flitwick.
As graduates of the same house, and professors at Hogwarts to boot, he naturally knew Quirrell's usual teaching standards very well.
However, no young wizard would ever say to his face how poor Professor Quirrell's teaching was. Having someone suddenly blurt it out now left him somewhat awkward.
Dylan blinked. He had spoken too quickly just now and had not quite realized what he was saying. Once he understood, he hurriedly continued.
"Professor Flitwick, the book only says that, as a particularly powerful form of Dark Magic, Fiendfyre can be extinguished with a Counter-Curse. Besides that, one must use a Finishing Curse more powerful than Finite Incantatem."
Dylan's gaze fell on Professor Flitwick. "And when a single person uses Finishing Spell, its actual power isn't very strong. It can only hold back Fiendfyre temporarily."
Professor Flitwick listened quietly to Dylan, then asked, "Everything you said is correct. So do you know how Finishing Spell holds back Fiendfyre?"
Dylan nodded lightly. "Although Finishing Spell can terminate and restrict the effects of all magic, making it one of the most powerful counterattacking spells..."
"Fiendfyre is also exceptionally powerful Dark Magic. This gives it the ability to burn everything to nothing. All matter touched by Fiendfyre will only burn itself out after it has been completely consumed."
"So Finishing Spell should merely restrict Fiendfyre and wait for it to extinguish itself. In truth, that doesn't really count as countering Fiendfyre in the true sense."
Professor Flitwick looked at Dylan in surprise. He had not expected Dylan to understand such an advanced and obscure spell so deeply.
However, he had already sensed Dylan's intelligence while communicating with the young wizard in the past. Thus, after his brief
