Harry, Neville, and the others gradually returned to the dormitory.
Dylan read for a while longer. When it was time for bed, he pretended to climb into bed to sleep—then actually fell asleep.
Harry and Ron exchanged glances and instinctively lowered their voices. After getting themselves ready, they each climbed into bed as well.
In the dead of night, Coal Ball finally nudged Dylan's chest with its little head.
Only then did Dylan wake up.
"How did I fall asleep?"
Dylan checked the time. It was already close to dawn.
But the sleep had left him feeling refreshed. He did not even need to cast Fatigue Dispelling on himself.
He turned to look at Harry and the others, who were already fast asleep, then quietly took his Invisibility Wizard Robes and put them on. His figure immediately vanished from sight.
"Silencio!"
Dylan silently recited the incantation, flicked his wand, and cast a Silencing Charm over himself.
He carefully climbed out of bed and slipped quietly out of the dormitory.
Hogwarts was exceptionally quiet at night.
Filch was still patrolling the Castle. Dylan could hear his heavy footsteps even from two corridors away.
"Oh! Maybe Filch really ought to give Mrs. Norris a proper bath. That smell is enough to make me throw up yesterday's dinner."
It was Dylan's first time wandering Hogwarts at night, yet despite that, he deftly avoided Filch and left the Castle.
"Maybe I should wear a Slytherin school uniform, let Filch catch me, and have all of Slytherin's points deducted. Then Hermione would not have to worry about Professor Snape targeting Gryffindor."
When he reached the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Dylan spotted Hagrid in the distance, carrying a large lantern as he patrolled back and forth to prevent anyone from sneaking into the forest—or anything
