Background / History
Yu Xiaogang accepts Tang San as his disciple and treats him as the proof of his soul-master theories. Tang San, in turn, vows to become strong enough to accompany his teacher back to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and vindicate him. His Blue Silver Grass, widely regarded as a powerless martial soul, initially manifests with two yellow spirit rings after he absorbs the Ghost Vine’s ring. 20
Tang San later becomes a Shrek student and develops a reputation as a capable but increasingly uncompromising fighter. After being defeated by Li Xun’s group, he questions whether his spirit-ring choices have weakened his Blue Silver Grass; Yu Xiaogang encourages him to persist. 82
His relationship with Yu Xiaogang deteriorates as Tang San comes to blame the master’s theories for limiting Blue Silver Grass’s development. He abandons the academy to seek rings independently, insists on cultivating his Clear Sky Hammer, and attaches four ten-thousand-year spirit rings to it despite warnings that this sacrifices the long-term potential of his Twin Martial Souls. 172 189 190 202
Tang Hao reveals that Xiao Wu is a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast in human form. Tang San chooses to conceal her identity and continue treating her as family. During training in Sunset Forest, he absorbs a ten-thousand-year Great Strength Ape ring and learns that physical condition determines how safely rings can be added to a second martial soul. 196
Following Xiao Wu’s death, Tang San seeks revenge against Li Xun and Sword Douluo. He reveals his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline to Da Ming, forms an uneasy alliance with the Spirit Beasts of the Star Dou Great Forest, and rapidly increases his strength by absorbing Spirit Beasts. 269 270
Tang San enters Slaughter City, earns his hundredth Hell Slaughter Arena victory, and chooses the Road to Hell over the Slaughter King’s offer of honored-guest status. After defeating the Three-Headed Bat King, he absorbs its life force, mutating Blue Silver Grass into a dark purplish-black form. He subsequently accepts the Rakshasa God’s examinations. 263 264
The Rakshasa God’s final trial requires Tang San to devour Yu Xiaogang. He asks his former master to offer his life, absorbs Yu Xiaogang’s Soul Power, and reaches level 93 after completing the examination. 391 392
Personality
Tang San is determined, proud, and highly protective of those he considers family. He risks himself to protect Xiao Wu and Yu Xiaogang, keeps Xiao Wu’s identity secret, and pursues strength to avenge her death. 111 196 269
He is also strategic and secretive. He conceals the true strength of his hidden weapons from Bibidong, independently investigates the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s weapon factory, and destroys its replicas rather than allow outsiders to decipher Tang Sect designs. 134 141
As his strength grows, Tang San becomes impatient with restraint and increasingly ruthless in pursuit of power. His conflict with Yu Xiaogang stems from resentment over Blue Silver Grass’s development, while the Rakshasa God’s trials drive him to devour Spirit Beasts and ultimately his own master’s Soul Power. 190 276 392
