Keske XIII was discussing the details of border defense with Ryan in his study. Ever since news spread that Mayuna was near death, the Gryphon Empire seemed to be showing faint signs of stirring again. Strangely, however, the Tide Empire, which had always been in league with them, showed no movement at all. Left with no choice, His Majesty had sent his most capable subordinate, Ryan, to fortify the border. The Golden Sword Lion's reputation was indeed formidable, and the hostile nations seemed to have settled down considerably at once, but Ryan could only remain stationed at the border.
"Ryan, you've worked hard. I can sense that your magic has improved again. If you take one more step forward, you'll become the Empire's youngest Archmage Saint."
Keske XIII truly liked Ryan. He had even poured him a glass of wine himself. Young, capable, responsible, and without a single complaint when sent to guard the frontier; he was also a dutiful son, caring for his mother with meticulous devotion.
"Your Majesty flatters me. My talent really isn't that remarkable, especially compared to that person."
Ryan said this with an embarrassed smile. Without that Golden Sword Lion, there was no way he could have attained such strength. Then again, how many people could have encountered an opportunity like his?
"I advise you to compare yourself with ordinary people instead. Mayuna's talent has already transcended her race."
His Majesty chuckled. Mayuna was only twenty this year. Becoming an Archmage God, let alone an Archmage Saint, would have made her the foremost person on the Holy Continent. Yet she had accomplished that great feat at seventeen.
"Father, how can you say that about Nana?"
Tinasha's voice suddenly rang out. His Majesty turned and saw three people standing at the study entrance. The Archmage God
