The Mechanical Giant's seemingly cumbersome body and sluggish movements were actually remarkably swift. Before General Glaive and the other two could get very far, the bone-chilling sense of danger at their backs had already made their entire bodies go numb.
The hammer, glowing with a purple aura, slammed into the ground. The metallic floor crumbled like papier-mâché, vast swaths of metal turning into ash and fragments. Centered on the point where the hammer met the ground, a ring-shaped shockwave swept through the surroundings.
General Glaive and the other two had no time to flee. They had realized that they had reached the critical point between life and death, and each used all their strength to resist the incoming purple shockwave.
General Glaive was the first to face the shockwave. He did not even have time to turn around, and could only pour all the power in his body into constructing layer after layer of Protective Layers behind him. Yet the defenses and reactions he hastily put together collapsed at the first touch before the shockwave infused with the power of the Infinity Stones. The purple torrent swept over him. His body was sliced apart as though by rapidly spinning, blade-like currents, exposing the flesh beneath his skin. Once the flesh had been ground away, his bones followed. In the end, his entire body vanished into the purple torrent.
The Peerless Blade was flung far away by the shockwave following its master's death. It spun through the air before landing and piercing the ground.
Supergiant used her formidable telekinesis to erect layer after layer of heavy psychic barriers around herself. With the strength of her mental power, the psychic barriers she raised could easily withstand the main cannon of a civilization's mothership. Yet when faced with the purple shockwave, her vision
