Loki was sentenced to be reset in the Time Variance Authority's courtroom.
He had wanted to resist, but there was no magic here. Or rather, magic simply did not work here.
Without magic, Loki had lost nearly ninety percent of his combat ability. If a middle-aged man named Mobius had not spoken up on his behalf, he would likely have ended up like the last person to be reset, vanishing directly into nothingness.

Mobius brought Loki into a room and gestured for him to sit down.
"What do you want to talk about?" Loki scratched at the Time Collar around his neck and sat down across from Mobius.
"Perhaps before we talk, you should learn a few things." Mobius smiled and raised the controller in his hand, activating the Light-Projection Screen that covered an entire wall.
Like a fast-forwarded film, the screen displayed every detail of Loki's life from childhood to the present. It should have been a long and tedious viewing experience, but strangely, the time within those images seemed compressed, allowing Loki to view everything in its entirety.
Yet only a brief moment passed outside.
Time itself was distorted here, fast and slow thrown into confusion. Or rather, the time on that screen and in this place was both abnormal.
Watching the things that version of himself had done on the screen, Loki's expression gradually darkened. When he saw how the Loki on the screen had pointed the invading Dark Elves in a direction, ultimately leading to his mother Frigga's death, his expression became utterly grim.
