Loki stood there, with Hawkeye Clint Barton beside him, already under the Mind Stone's control.
As he sized them up, Yinsen wagged a finger at Nick Fury, who stood not far in front of him. Did Director Fury think Yinsen wouldn't notice his little move just because he wasn't looking at him?
"Don't make pointless attempts. Your weapon won't work on me."
Fury's hand still rested on his gun. He hadn't held out much hope, but in this situation, he couldn't just stand there and do nothing.
"Who are you? Are you with that guy?"
"That guy?" Yinsen glanced at Loki. The Prince of Asgard was studying him as well. "Probably not."
From their reactions, Yinsen knew they didn't recognize him. In other words, while this was the Marvel Universe he knew, it wasn't the one he had once visited.
That also meant Loki had no connection with him whatsoever, so it was hardly surprising that he would act this way.
Yinsen stepped sideways and twisted away from the attack coming from behind. His left hand shot out and caught the scepter Loki had thrust at him, while his right hand lifted slightly and casually fired a Magic Missile.
Calling it a Magic Missile wasn't quite accurate. The various energies within Yinsen had completely fused into a higher form of divine power under their previous state of high-pressure compression. But Divine Power Missile sounded far too stupid, and he absolutely refused to name the move that.
Loki was sent flying by the missile, and the scepter in his hand was seized by Yinsen. Still, as an Asgardian—a Frost Giant—Loki possessed formidable physical abilities. The blow hurt badly, but it didn't inflict any serious damage.
