Magic Trick

Brian's plan had been good. If Yinsen had just been an ordinary young man, Brian might really have shaken him off.

But Yinsen was not. Brian sped wildly for half an hour, yet Yinsen and Diana's car remained steadily behind him.

Even more infuriatingly, whenever Brian slowed down even a little, Yinsen behind him kept flashing his headlights, as if mocking him: Go on, keep speeding!

Unable to swallow his anger, Brian tried twice more, but he still could not shake Yinsen. He had realized that Yinsen's driving skills were absolutely no worse than his own—Brian vaguely felt that Yinsen might even be better, but he did not want to admit it.

In the end, Brian still led Yinsen to the race location. After finding a spot and parking, he remained in his car, questioning his life.

He suddenly remembered what Harry had told him at noon. Maybe Harry had been right. Maybe his skills really were not that impressive.

Just as Brian began wondering whether his driving could catch Dominic's attention, he saw that Yinsen had already walked up to Dominic.

Brian hurried out of his car and rushed over, just in time to hear Dominic say, "I'm not interested in racing a kid."

"Are you afraid of losing?"

Dominic looked as if he had heard a joke. Amused, he pointed at himself. "You think I'm afraid of losing? You think I'd be scared?"

The people around them found it amusing, but they were also puzzled. What did a little brat like Yinsen have to rely on to dare speak to Toretto like that?

Whatever the reason, they were happy to have something entertaining to watch that night, so they enthusiastically egged them on from the sidelines.
