After lying low in Amegakure for more than ten days and confirming that not even Black Zetsu and White Zetsu dared return to the area to investigate, Yinsen and Jiraiya set out for the Hidden Leaf Village.
Over the past few days, Jiraiya had learned that the true masterminds behind Akatsuki were Madara Uchiha and Black Zetsu. Madara Uchiha was already dead, and the masked man claiming to be Madara Uchiha was merely his "Spokesperson."
"Then who exactly is this person?"
"Obito Uchiha!"
Yinsen had not originally intended to reveal that information, but after thinking it over, he realized it was not particularly important. Besides, rather than having Kakashi discover the truth during battle and fall into turmoil, it would be better to let him know early and give him enough time to prepare himself mentally.
"Uchiha... Obito?"
Jiraiya was not particularly familiar with that name. He merely marveled at how powerful the Uchiha bloodline truly was. You never knew where another powerful fighter might emerge from.
Although Jiraiya had never fought Obito Uchiha, the fact that the man had silently crept close to them without their notice, only for Yinsen to spot him first, was enough to demonstrate his strength.
As for Obito Uchiha being instantly killed by one of Yinsen's genjutsu... that could not be used as a point of reference at all. Especially after Jiraiya curiously questioned Yinsen in detail about the genjutsu he had used on Obito Uchiha, he felt that no one in the entire Hidden Leaf Village could withstand that move. Whoever faced it would be brought to their knees.
It was only after Yinsen further explained Obito's identity that Jiraiya realized what the masked man's identity meant.
"You mean... he was Kakashi's former companion? The one who gave Kakashi his Sharingan?"
"Yes."
