Background / History

Thor first arrived on Earth seeking Mjolnir after Odin exiled him and sealed his power. He identified himself to S.H.I.E.L.D. as the God of Thunder, but his inability to lift the hammer left him despairing and in custody. His power was later restored when he reclaimed Mjolnir and destroyed the Destroyer sent by Loki. 94 96

As Odin's eldest son and heir, Thor gradually assumed more responsibility for Asgard. He welcomed Ethan's visits to the realm, asked him to look after Loki during Loki's exile, and later relied on Ethan when Jane Foster became host to the Aether. 203 207 355 358
