Shadowmoon Fortress, or Pain Fortress.
This was a typical Orcish architectural complex. The ancestors of the Shadowmoon Clan had used the power of the elements to build enormous stone temples here to house the remains of the dead. Those massive stones carved with elemental runes carried the weight of history.
This was the "cultural heritage" the Orcs took pride in.
The terrain here consisted of rolling hills. Since the Shadowmoon Clan excelled at stargazing, they had also built tall, spacious observatories upon the slopes, dedicated to observing the changes in the heavens.
In truth, this was part of Orcish tradition.
During the clan era, they had no concept of "weddings" or "engagements." Young Orc men and women often poured out their hearts to each other when the stars shifted, letting the sea of stars bear witness to their love. Once they completed this ritual, partners would remain fiercely loyal to one another.
Even the wild legendary chieftain Grom Hellscream, despite mocking his mate's weakness and abandoning poor Gorka to die, had not gone on to make baby Orcs with those female Orc fans who worshipped his strength to an extreme. That alone proved that devotion to one partner had always been an Orcish virtue.

The tombs that had once housed the bodies of the dead and served as places for mourning and burial had become crude necromantic towers for summoning undead warriors.
