30 Ashbringers (crossed out), Mass Production Plan for Dustbringers! [Release Bonus Update 33/50]
(Bonus chapter for brother "Chuck Wesley" [3/5])
By the time Archbishop Hataaru finally arrived at the governor's residence with his tech-artisans, all fighting and resistance had already ended.
The rescued civilians were being escorted out of the residence by the guards. Of course, given the Vigilants' vigilance, priests from Aldor Temple were still examining them in the name of "treatment," checking for disguised Man'ari or the even rarer Nathrezim among them.
Archbishop Akama was overseeing the cleanup, while Hand of Argus recruits, carrying buckets of holy water under the priests' guidance, purified the entire governor's residence.
What had happened here had alarmed the surrounding streets, but several Arcane Guards had sealed off the area and kept citizens away from the danger zone.
"I'm late. I brought the Arcanite Crystals needed to shut down the Eternal Guardians, but it looks like you've already handled everything?"
Archbishop Hataaru looked travel-worn.
That was only natural. He had rushed here from Elodor, and making preparations along the way had been far from easy. Facing his question, Akama—still somewhat shaken by Othaar's fate—silently nodded. He said softly:
"Several damaged Arcane Guards need urgent repairs from you and your artisans. As for the Immortal Guardian, there's no need to worry. Diakum the Saint used his own method to reset Lord Quaram's command protocol.
But now, it seems to obey only the Vigilant Saint's orders."
"Ah?"
The result made Hataaru's eyes widen. He adjusted the engineering goggles resting on his head and said in confusion:
"Hard-overwriting the command instructions in an Immortal Guardian's Mind Core Crystal without shutting it down? That's absurd. It's a prohibited violation of the artisan's manual—er, I know this isn't the time to say that.
But where is Othaar?
Why haven't I seen that traitor?"
"He... he was personally purified by the Saint."
