Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Lower God 568 The Super God Academy incarnation possesses a Godly Body near Middle God-grade armor in durability, but lacks the Somersault Cloud and Seventy-Two Transformations.
Early-Stage Golden Immortal 1035 Reached after slightly more than ten years of cultivation under Bodhi Ancestor; his dormant spiritual-energy foundation as a stone monkey enabled unusually rapid growth.
Early-Stage Great Luo Golden Immortal 1048 His cultivation surged after consuming Peaches of Immortality and Nine Revolutions Golden Pills. The rapid breakthrough left his realm unstable.
Golden Immortal / Late-Stage Golden Immortal 1048, 1063 Five hundred years beneath Five Finger Mountain, with surrounding Spiritual Energy sealed away, caused his unstable cultivation to regress. By the time Xiao Xie attacked him, he was at Late-Stage Golden Immortal.

Background

Before his birth, Son Goku absorbed immense quantities of heaven-and-earth Spiritual Energy within his stone body. After seeking immortals and becoming Bodhi Ancestor’s disciple, he rapidly reached the Early-Stage Golden Immortal realm. His cultivation is identified as the Eight Nine Mysterious Art, while his Seventy-Two Transformations of Disha and Somersault Cloud correspond to that art 1048.

During his voyage to seek a master, the Four Seas Dragon Kings secretly protected him. He later entered the East Sea Dragon Palace to seek a suitable weapon, where Ao Guang gave him the Ruyi Jingu Bang and a set of Immortal Artifacts in hopes of befriending a rising demon powerhouse 1034 1035.

Son Goku became sworn brothers with Bull Demon King and five other demon kings, forming the Seven Great Sages. Despite this alliance, he accepted Venus’s invitation to serve in the Heavenly Court without consulting his sworn brothers, becoming the Keeper of Horses 1036 1037.

Appearance

Son Goku is a sharp-featured monkey demon with a “Lei Gong Face” and a sharp-mouthed, monkey-cheeked appearance. He is commonly seen wielding the Ruyi Jingu Bang; the Super God Academy incarnation additionally appears in armor with red-glowing eyes and a golden staff 568 1065 1070.

  • Stone-monkey physiology and monkey-like mannerisms, including scratching his ears and cheeks 1040.
  • Carries the Ruyi Jingu Bang, which can enlarge to hundreds of meters in combat 569 570.
  • Acquired “Fiery Eyes and Golden Gaze” after surviving the smoke of Lord Lao’s Eight Trigrams Furnace 1058.
  • Can manifest the Heaven and Earth Dharma Image through the Seventy-Two Transformations 744.

Personality

Son Goku is fiery-tempered, straightforward, proud, and highly susceptible to praise. Venus repeatedly manipulates him by flattering his desire for recognition, while Son Goku’s limited worldly experience leaves him unable to recognize the Heavenly Court’s schemes 1037 1040.

He is also impulsive and overconfident. His anger at being called “Keeper of Horses” can provoke immediate violence, and his belief that defeating ordinary Heavenly Soldiers made him invincible leads him to challenge Many Treasures Tathagata for the Jade Emperor’s throne 569 1058.

Despite his crude manner, he can be patient and deceptive when motivated. He spent several days earning the Peach Garden staff’s trust before secretly eating ripe peaches and replacing them with monkey-hair copies 1040 1041.

The Wukong Clone later behaves far more calculatingly than Son Goku because Xiao Xie controls it. Its negotiations, deceptions, and apparent obedience during the Journey to the West do not reflect the original Son Goku’s choices 1063 1065.

Abilities & Skills

Ruyi Jingu Bang

Son Goku’s primary weapon is a powerful Acquired Spiritual Treasure obtained from the East Sea Dragon Palace.

  • Enlarges from a handheld staff into a weapon hundreds of meters long 569 570.
  • Destroyed Leina’s layered defenses in a single blow and swept away combatants across several thousand meters 569.
  • Allows even an Early-Stage Golden Immortal Son Goku to threaten stronger opponents 1037.
  • Is described as a relatively powerful Acquired Spiritual Treasure rather than an invincible artifact 704.

Eight Nine Mysterious Art

His core cultivation method is inferred to be the Eight Nine Mysterious Art taught by Bodhi Ancestor.

  • Supports his rapid rise from an untrained stone monkey to Early-Stage Golden Immortal 1048.
  • Corresponds to the Seventy-Two Transformations of Disha 1048.
  • Is also practiced by Yang Jian, allowing the two to contend on relatively even terms 1048.
  • His pill-assisted Great Luo Golden Immortal breakthrough was unstable and later regressed during his imprisonment 1048.

Seventy-Two Transformations of Disha

A mastered set of seventy-two spells and divine abilities, learned under Bodhi Ancestor.

  • Primarily allows the user to evade the calamities of heavenly lightning, heavenly fire, and heavenly wind in pursuit of immortality 1061.
  • Includes transformation arts, Clone Technique, Reattaching Heads, and Body Immobilization 1061.
  • Enables Son Goku to create monkey-hair clones 1061.
  • Is easier to master than the Thirty-Six Transformations of Tiangang, despite the latter’s stronger individual divine abilities 1061.

Somersault Cloud

A movement divine ability associated with Son Goku’s Seventy-Two Transformations.

  • Covers one hundred and eight thousand li in a single somersault 1058.
  • Was copied in secret by the Six-Eared Macaque, who learned it by following Son Goku 1061.
  • The Super God Academy incarnation does not possess this ability; it travels through long-distance leaps instead 568.

Fiery Eyes and Golden Gaze

An eye ability acquired through his forty-nine-day confinement in the Eight Trigrams Furnace.

  • Formed when Son Goku sheltered in the wind-filled Sun Palace position to avoid the Six Ding Divine Fire 1058.
  • The furnace smoke reddened his eyes and left him with an eye ailment known as Fiery Eyes and Golden Gaze 1058.
  • The Wukong Clone uses this appearance to conceal its Rinne Sharingan from outside observers 1063.

Super God Academy Incarnation

The divine-monkey incarnation encountered by the Xiong Bing Company relies on overwhelming physical strength and staff combat.

  • Can leap over a kilometer almost instantly and briefly conceal himself 568.
  • Weighs more than fifty tons and creates shockwaves powerful enough to throw ordinary soldiers into the air when landing 568.
  • Possesses a Godly Body and a combat level assessed as Lower God 568.
  • Broke free from Xiao Xie’s hundred-meter Black Iron Pyramid by enlarging his staff 570.

  • Yang Jian — Rival with a similar cultivation art and comparable realm; their battle ends when Yang Jian’s side captures Son Goku with the Howling Celestial Dog’s assistance 1048 1049.
  • Many Treasures Tathagata — Subdues Son Goku through the Buddha Kingdom in the Palm wager and suppresses him beneath Five Finger Mountain 1058 1059.
  • Tang Sanzang — Assigned master during the Journey to the West. The real Son Goku leaves after being reprimanded; Xiao Xie later substitutes the Wukong Clone in his place 1062 1063.

Son Goku is deployed as the Xiong Bing Company’s first major target. He destroys Xiao Xie’s helicopter, overwhelms Leina, Garen, Da D, Zhao Xin, and the other Super God Warriors, and forces Xiao Xie to confront him personally 568 569.

Xiao Xie temporarily seals him in a Black Iron Pyramid made from iron sand, but Son Goku breaks free by extending the Ruyi Jingu Bang. The supplied account does not establish the final outcome of this battle 570.

Dragon Palace and Seven Great Sages

After sweeping weapons from Aolai Kingdom’s armory, Son Goku seeks a proper weapon at the East Sea Dragon Palace. He obtains the Ruyi Jingu Bang and Immortal Artifacts, then leaves the Dragon Kings furious at his arrogance 1034 1035.

He becomes one of the Seven Great Sages alongside Bull Demon King and the other demon kings. His decision to enter the Heavenly Court without informing them weakens their trust in him 1036 1037.

Heavenly Court rebellion

Venus persuades Son Goku to become Keeper of Horses, a post intended to humiliate him and the Seven Great Sages. Once he learns its true meaning, he returns to Flower Fruit Mountain and raises the banner of the Great Sage Equaling Heaven 1037 1039.

The Heavenly Court recalls him with an honorary title and assigns him to manage the Peach of Immortality Garden. After patiently establishing trust with the garden staff, he eats ripe peaches and conceals the theft with monkey-hair replacements 1040 1041.

After consuming Peaches of Immortality and Nine Revolutions Golden Pills, he reaches the Early-Stage Great Luo Golden Immortal realm. He fights Yang Jian, is captured, survives forty-nine days in the Eight Trigrams Furnace, and launches an assault on the Hall of Miraculous Mist 1048 1049 1058.

Suppression and replacement

Many Treasures Tathagata defeats Son Goku through a wager involving the Buddha Kingdom in the Palm and suppresses him beneath Five Finger Mountain for five hundred years 1059.

After escaping, Son Goku leaves Tang Sanzang following an argument. Xiao Xie intercepts him in Kamui Space, has five avatars attack him, and kills him while his cultivation is only Late-Stage Golden Immortal 1062 1063.

Xiao Xie erases Son Goku’s consciousness, refines the body into an Asura Path Clone, and sends the imitation back to Tang Sanzang. The clone continues the Journey to the West as a disguised agent until it self-destructs rather than submit to Buddhism 1063 1094.
