Transit Hub One.
In a flash of light, Bai Zhi and his group of four reappeared in the Plaza.
It was late at night. The streetlamps around the Plaza were lit, though a few scattered vendors still had their stalls open. An evening wind blew past, carrying the spicy aroma of barbecue.
Looking up at the night sky, they saw it filled with stars.
Despite the late hour, Brother Mammoth was still faithfully manning his post. Upon seeing them appear, he hurriedly stood up from the barbecue stall, where he had been eating Grilled Skewers and drinking beer.
"You're back? This trip looked... uh, successful?"
Brother Mammoth looked at the energetic Bai Zhi at the front, then at the starkly contrasting group behind him, who seemed like several walking dead, and could not help feeling somewhat baffled.
...One team, two completely different states? What was going on?
"Not bad. There was a little accident along the way, but overall, it went pretty smoothly."
Bai Zhi shrugged slightly after glancing at his Teammates.
If not for that Evil God Remnant, they would not have ended up in such a state. But then again, if not for that thing, that world would not have been classified as the highest difficulty level.
With matters like this, all one could say was that fate had its own designs.
"What is it? Did something happen?"
Drawing his gaze back, Bai Zhi looked at Brother Mammoth before him.
From the way the other man was acting, it seemed as if he had specifically been waiting for them.
"Uh... my superior wants to talk to you. It's something important."
Brother Mammoth scratched his head as he spoke.
"I thought I'd have to wait a few more days, but I didn't expect you to come back so quickly..."
