A Ruinbringer.
Wen Xishu had actually guessed right. But why did this Ruinbringer seem so strange?
"Ah, looks like you're an experienced Tower Climber. Come on, let's have a proper chat. The coffee at this town's Coffee Shop is pretty good."
Jessica took Wen Xishu's hand and led him toward the Coffee Shop by the stone bridge, as though they were a couple.
The place had something of the feel of a riverside town in Jiangnan. From the window seats in the Coffee Shop, they could see the gently flowing water.
Jessica said:
"It's not a big brand, but I really like the taste. What would you like to drink?"
"Just order whatever you think is good."
The two sat by the window in the Coffee Shop.
The owner glanced at Jessica:
"You've been all right these past few days, haven't you, Jessica?"
Jessica smiled:
"Of course. I'm doing great."
Then Jessica quietly leaned her face closer:
"I was purified once, so... they all worry about me. They think I might get possessed and go crazy again."
Wen Xishu was puzzled.
Jessica said:
"You know about Ruinbringers, right?"
Wen Xishu nodded:
"I've dealt with them a few times."
Jessica narrowed her eyes:
"Have you ever been toyed with by a Ruinbringer?"
Wen Xishu shook his head:
"I'm more like a Ruinbringer's nemesis. I'm very bad news for you people."
Jessica laughed:
"Too bad my personality's changed. Otherwise, I'd have liked to take you on."
Wen Xishu said nothing, quietly waiting for Jessica's explanation.
Jessica said:
"I really am a Ruinbringer, you know. I used to commit every kind of evil, too. I especially loved twisting other people, but there was nothing I could do... someone came to town who could ruin people even more simply and brutally than I could."
