For the Greater Good

July 28, 1991, London, England.

Mr. Allen Wallop, who lived in Kensington and Chelsea, London, had been in an exceptionally good mood lately. His private hospital business was thriving, he had finally dealt with that greedy official, and preparations for the next hospital in his chain were already on the table.

Of course, that was not the main reason for his good mood.

His son, Sean Wallop, had successfully received an offer of admission from Eton College.

"Still, it was only to be expected."

Sitting in his spacious, comfortable leather office chair, Mr. Wallop thought smugly.

Intelligent, friendly, polite, gentlemanly, and so on—Mr. Wallop believed that his eleven-year-old son already possessed every quality a nobleman ought to have.

He had every reason to believe that the glory of the Wallop family would be reforged by father and son.

"Sean, is he all right?" Beside a park in Chelsea, a beautiful girl looked slightly worried as she spoke to the boy next to her.

The boy looked about eleven or twelve. He was extraordinarily handsome, with slightly curly black hair that had been carefully styled. Even in a casual T-shirt and jeans, he somehow looked as though he were wearing formal attire.

"Don't worry. I just gently flipped him over and put him back on the ground. Besides, that guy can take a beating. It's not the first time." Sean Wallop clapped his hands and replied casually.

Then he gave her a flawless, elegant smile. "He shouldn't have played that prank on you. I've warned him plenty of times."

Looking into Sean's lake-blue eyes, the girl blushed faintly, her earlier concern already forgotten.

"Sean, you really are a gentleman."

"Oh, although I've always been taught to be humble, if it's praise from you, please allow me to accept it boldly."

The young man was every inch the gentleman, with no sign that he had just beaten up another boy.

After parting reluctantly from the girl, Sean Wallop leisurely headed toward his family's garden villa.

Along the way, he "happened" to run into several more beautiful girls.

"I have to say, your new hairstyle really brings out your features."

"Could you ask your father to give me some counseling? Otherwise, every time I see you, your beauty leaves me tongue-tied."

"You see, every day I have to marvel at how much more infatuated with you I've become—more than yesterday, less than tomorrow."

Sean always had something prepared for every girl. Based on her changes, family background, and how familiar she was with him, he could effortlessly deliver compliments that made the girls blush furiously.

After all, who could refuse the sincere praise of a handsome young gentleman?

When he arrived home along the route he had planned long ago, a voice sounded in Sean Wallop's mind.

"Mission: Increase the favorability of five girls toward you. 5/5. Completed."

"10 points have been credited."

Listening to the system prompt, Sean lazily stretched.

Yes, he was a transmigrator. In his previous life, he had just been accepted into the university he wanted, only to inexplicably transmigrate back to twentieth-century England.

However, Sean quickly accepted reality. He had no parents in his previous life, but in this one, both his parents were alive and loved him dearly. Even his five-year-old sister was adorable and lively. At the same time, the Wallop family was immensely wealthy, sparing him the struggle of working hard to become part of the new generation.

What was there to be dissatisfied about?

Though the system was admittedly rather bare-bones.

In the third year after his rebirth, Sean's system had activated. But aside from issuing all sorts of missions each week, it had served no other purpose.

Sean had always persisted in completing the missions for a simple reason. First, most of them were easy. Second, there was a gray Lottery Draw icon on the simple system panel.

Although he could not use it yet, there had to be a reason it was there.

Pushing open the courtyard gate, Sean walked over to the family pool. He comfortably settled into a sun lounger and picked up the iced drink the nanny had prepared beside it.

This life is so comfortable... Sean narrowed his eyes contentedly.

Suddenly, something struck him in the chest.

Sean opened his eyes in confusion just as an owl flapped away.

"This..." Sean picked up the object from his chest. It was a letter.

The thick parchment had a pleasing texture. On the reverse side of the address was a wax seal, above which was a familiar School Crest. Beneath it was a line of text: Do not disturb the sleeping dragon.

Sean froze where he stood.

I'm such an idiot... How did I not think of this...

Overwhelmed by immense surprise, anticipation, and unease, Sean opened the envelope and drew out the letter. Several lines of elegant emerald-green script were written on it.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore

(President of the International Confederation of Wizards, President of the Wizarding Association, First-Class Mage of the Order of Merlin)

Dear Mr. Wallop:

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enclosed is a list of required books and equipment. Term begins on September 1. We await your owl no later than July 31 with your reply.

Vice Principal

Minerva McGonagall

Yours sincerely

Sean stared at the letter several times over. This was not merchandise he had bought in his previous life—it was a real letter of acceptance!

Just then, a voice echoed in his mind. "System function modules are loading. Updating. Please wait."

"So that's why..." Sean gripped the envelope tightly and fell heavily back onto the lounger.

He had never imagined that behind his new life as a wealthy second-generation Briton lay an entire Wizarding World!

Instinctively, he immediately began searching through the vague memories of his previous life.

To be honest, he was not a die-hard fan of the Harry Potter series. Like many people, he had read the books and watched the films, more than once at that, but asking him to recall many details now was rather difficult.

For Sean, what he remembered more clearly was the film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, since it had only been released shortly before his transmigration.

But thanks to short-video apps, what he remembered most clearly were all sorts of highlight scenes, the various fan-made pairings, and the fact that Eddie Redmayne was adorable, Grindelwald was handsome, and young Dumbledore... had a very perky butt...

With mixed feelings, he glanced once more at the envelope in his hand.

At that moment, a dignified and gentle woman approached, holding the hand of an adorable little girl.

"Sean, isn't your father back yet? We agreed we'd go buy your uniform and some daily necessities together."

Sean gave an awkward laugh. It seemed he might not need to buy a uniform after all...

But before he could figure out how to explain it to his family, a familiar voice sounded at the courtyard gate.

"Darling, I'm back. But hey, kid, there's a letter for you."

The slightly plump Mr. Wallop hugged his wife and daughter, then handed over a letter.

Sean accepted the envelope in confusion.

It had the same pale yellow parchment cover, and even weighed about the same.

What was going on?

Unable to stop himself, Sean swallowed before turning the letter over.

It had the same wax seal, except the School Crest on it was different.

A phoenix and a fire dragon surrounded a symbol.

A symbol that made Sean's eyes widen.

The Deathly Hallows.

And the letters above the symbol sent waves crashing through Sean's heart.

Newmontgard.

Beneath the crest was a line in Latin. Thanks to Eton College's demanding standards, Sean knew quite a bit of Latin.

Translated, it read:

For the Greater Good.
