Revere Transfiguration
Inside the classroom, the freshmen stared in horror at the ferocious dragon claw that extended from Sean's right shoulder. The black scales were terrifying, and the sharp claws emitted a chilling light.
If a small Fire Dragon that had Transfiguration was still within their acceptable range, then the fact that their ever-smiling teaching assistant had suddenly turned into a dragon was somewhat frightening.
Sean was quite satisfied with the students' reaction. If anyone was still excited after seeing this, he would have to keep a close eye on them in the future.
Otherwise, sooner or later someone will actually Transfiguration a monster.
Of course, it's also important to give these children the most unforgettable memories...
He wielded his dragon claws with ease, demonstrating that he could easily control the grotesque part.
The fear in the students' eyes gradually subsided, and their curiosity began to rise.
After Sean made it clear that there was nothing to worry about, they carefully stood up from their seats, somewhat comically clutching their Wizard Hat that transformed into various things, and stood on tiptoe to examine Sean's Fire Dragon -like right arm.
"Professor Wallop, is this Human Transfiguration?" a student asked.
Sean nodded. "Yes, Human Transfiguration. Generally speaking, you will only start to learn the simplest Human Transfiguration after you reach the sixth grade, provided that you pass the OWLs exam and meet Professor McGonagall's minimum course standards."
"Wow—" Upon hearing that this was the content of the lesson, the students exclaimed in unison, and their fear completely dissipated.
One of the bolder students, after obtaining Sean's permission, gently touched his dragon claw and exclaimed in surprise, "My God, it looks just like the real thing..."
"What, you've even touched a real Fire Dragon?" Sean asked with a smile.
The student scratched his head sheepishly. "It's about what I expected... Professor, you're only in fourth grade, right? You've already learned sixth-grade material?"
"Your learning speed is acceptable; otherwise, Professor McGonagall wouldn't have entrusted you with this task."
Sean wasn't being modest; he had indeed already studied on his own up to the sixth grade, and as he delved deeper, he discovered that the Advanced Transfiguration that could only be learned after OWLs didn't seem too difficult for him.
Professor McGonagall's notes were detailed enough, and Sean understood them very quickly.
Of course, Sean felt that this was related to his identity as the Fire Dragon Animagus, and that he was making very rapid progress in Human Transfiguration.
It might also be related to the little bit of talent I've gained.
Sean had previously drawn a golden talent point that he could allocate himself, and overall, in terms of talents, he had quite a few options.
Charms Talent: 8 (You have already found the right path to becoming a powerful wizard)
Transfiguration Talent: 10 (Everything in the world can be transformed; you will become an unprecedented master of Transfiguration!)
Potions Talent: 5 (You no longer have to be so terrified when Brewing Potions; this talent is enough to earn you the occasional smile from the Potions Professor. Note: Except for Severus Snape)
Magical Creature Affinity: 10+1 (A born druid—don't you really want to consider opening a zoo?)
Ancient Runes Talent: 2 (Fortunately, your IQ is high enough to be interviewed by a reporter who's here to see why you're so stupid.)
Dark Arts Talent: 10 (Ha! If you weren't surrounded by a hundred Dementor in Azkaban, the entire Ministry of Magic should resign!)
Given that the Magical Creature Affinity is already +1, Sean thinks that adding another +1 might not make much of a difference. And for Ancient Runes, going from 2 to 3 obviously wouldn't be a qualitative change either. The 5 points in Potions talent is already enough to divert a lot of Snape's firepower.
That leaves Sean with only Charms, Transfiguration, and Dark Arts as options.
If Sean had two talent points, he would choose to add them to Charms, because he had personally experienced that ten talent points would bring about a qualitative change. However, since he only had eight talent points in Charms, Sean decided to put it aside for the time being after much consideration.
Of the two talents, Transfiguration and Dark Arts, both of which have reached ten points, Dark Arts ultimately has side effects. Sean also needs to worry that borrowing too much power from negative emotions might inversely amplify the Sin within him.
Transfiguration doesn't have this problem, and Sean's Transfiguration is now used extensively, both in terms of power and practical application. The more you delve into Transfiguration, the better it becomes.
Therefore, Sean ultimately allocated that little bit of talent point to Transfiguration.
Transfiguration Talent: 10+1 (You can finally take your own step in Transfiguration)
The system's comments after the points were added further convinced Sean that his choice was correct.
At the same time, he could clearly feel that his mastery of Advanced Transfiguration was becoming faster and more thorough.
This is also the source of his confidence to do some big things in the lower grades' classes—he is confident that he will not teach the freshmen wrong things.
Bringing his thoughts back, Sean smiled and waved his dragon claw, "Actually, this is just a specific form, not a real dragon claw."
As he spoke, he walked over to the Fire Dragon he Transfiguration into and patted it. The Fire Dragon obediently stretched out its claws.
"Although this is something you'll only learn about in your third-year Care of Magical Creatures, it's related to Transfiguration, so I can mention it to you."
"In the wizarding world, many Magical Creatures also possess special magical powers. Even if they don't have magical powers, they still have special aspects—such as resistance to magic." Sean stretched out his right paw and compared it with the Fire Dragon's.
"My Human Transfiguration only gives me greater strength and slightly higher Magic Resistance than I am, but it still can't compare to a real Fire Dragon —I'm a little ashamed of your curious gazes, but I'm sorry, guys, you haven't mastered the more advanced stuff yet."
The students let out a somewhat disappointed "Ah—", their curiosity now completely piqued by Sean's Transfiguration.
However, some students did not forget what Sean had said before.
"Professor Wallop, you just said that Transfiguration is more magical, so it also comes with more risks. You haven't mentioned that yet."
"Didn't you say?" Sean asked with a smile.
"No," the students answered in unison.
Sean walked thoughtfully to the center of the classroom. "It seems I didn't talk about it... but I remember I did, and it should have been very engaging..."
"Let me think, let me think. I'm going to give you a real example to prove why Transfiguration is so magical yet so dangerous..."
"Hiss—I can't remember? No, no, no, that's not how it works..."
In the center of the classroom, Sean rested his chin on one of his dragon claws, his brows furrowed, looking distressed and confused.
The freshmen looked at each other in confusion, wondering why Professor Wallop, who had just given a brilliant lecture, had become so... bewildered.
In the center of the classroom, Sean appeared even more agitated, his expression even becoming somewhat manic.
"Professor? Professor Wallop? Are you alright?" a student asked cautiously, but received no reply.
Sean stood there repeating over and over, "No, that's not how it is..."
The whole scene gradually became eerie and terrifying.
"Ah—" Suddenly, a little girl who was very close to Sean screamed.
Everyone looked over and saw the cute, round-faced girl backing away in terror, pointing tremblingly at Sean's right side.
"Professor! The professor's body is moving!"
The students were terrified. They looked over, trembling, and then, to their horror, they saw that, just as the girl had described, starting from Sean's right shoulder where he had turned into a dragon claw, his robes, muscles, bones, and his entire right half of his body looked as if they had been put into a blender.
Various bloody and distorted postures seemed to overlap on Sean's right side, making one's hair stand on end at a glance.
"Professor?! Professor?! What's wrong with you?!"
Some of the bolder students shouted at Sean, and even a few of those who had been comforted by Sean before, such as Campbell Axston, dared to get closer before collapsing to the ground.
"Professor... the professor's face is changing..."
After he finished speaking, Sean's hand, which had been hidden behind his back, slowly fell to his sides.
Everyone gasped in shock, and the timid girls huddled together with their companions.
Sean's once handsome face was now contorted, and scales were gradually creeping up his neck on the right side of his face. Beneath those thin scales, beneath the skin that was turning dark red, strange creatures seemed to be writhing and trying to crawl out.
Sean's deep, pale blue eyes, which used to make many girls blush, had turned into a manic, unconscious blood red.
What frightened the students even more was that they finally clearly felt how the magic was going out of control!
The nebula trembled like the heart of Giant, the starry sky expanded again, and then rapidly contracted.
The students saw the point of light connected to them trembling as it burrowed into the center of the blood-red nebula, as if they were being swallowed up!
"The... the Transfiguration is out of control..." A hoarse voice, mixed with a strange dragon roar, struggled to escape from Sean's throat.
"Quick, go call Professor McGonagall!" A student immediately realized what was happening and ran towards the classroom door.
Sean's voice became increasingly distorted and inhuman.
"Everyone... run! Run!"
"Roar—" Sean and the Fire Dragon behind him let out a deafening roar.
"Ah--"
The crowd screamed, and the students stood up in a panic, rushing towards the back door.
But then, something devastating happened: for some reason, the door simply wouldn't open!
Sean's roar was filled with murderous intent, and everyone tried to push their way out, but even with all their efforts, the wooden door remained unmoved.
"Roar—" A terrifying roar came, neither like Fire Dragon nor a wild beast, but only conveying endless rage and killing intent.
The students turned around trembling, and more than half of them instantly collapsed to the ground.
An indescribable dragon-shaped monster exuded a terrifying aura, its gaping maw dripping with saliva, and it was now staring intently at them.
"Waaaaah... I don't want to be eaten... Mommy..."
"Let me out... Ah!"
"Professor! Professor! Wake up!"
The children were terrified and tried even harder to squeeze out. One girl accidentally fell to the ground, and her companions, not noticing, saw the soles of her shoes magnify rapidly in her eyes.
She closed her eyes in fear, only to find that the trampling she had imagined did not happen.
He and several other students who had fallen all floated up, and the other groups of people were also separated by gentle magic.
The terrifying monster was shrinking rapidly, and its murderous intent vanished instantly.
They thought Professor Wallop, who had turned into a monster, was standing by the podium, gently separating them with his wand.
"Sorry, I wanted to show you what it's like when Transfiguration goes out of control, but it seems I went a little overboard." Sean chuckled.
The freshmen, tears streaming down their faces, stared blankly at each other.
Is this all fake?
"I know what you're thinking, it's obviously fake," Sean snapped his fingers, and handkerchiefs and chocolates appeared on everyone's seats. "Alright, please go back to your seats and calm down."
The students, who were initially frightened, took quite some time to calm down, during which Sean watched them with a smile.
After calming down, one student muttered a complaint, "Professor, that was really scary..."
To his surprise, Sean nodded in agreement. "Yes, it's very scary, very, very scary."
He walked slowly through the classroom. "What you just saw was all an illusion created by my Mahoutokoro, but—"
Sean's tone became heavy and serious.
"It's all true."
Sensing the meaning behind his words, the students couldn't help but listen attentively.
"This is a true story of a wizard's Transfiguration after it went out of control... He became a monster that no one recognized and that no one knew. His family, friends, and teachers—" Sean stroked the puppy that the freshman next to him was holding, "And all his favorite pets died at his hands."
"And why is that? Because he thinks he's exceptionally talented, that he's grasped the essence of Transfiguration, that he can—manipulate Transfiguration." Sean's tone turned angry. "Before, I welcomed you into this magical world of Transfiguration. Now, I'm telling you, in the world of Transfiguration, there is only absolute correctness! Transfiguration that isn't correct or rigorous enough can only be called a failure!"
"I have led you into the world of Transfiguration, and I will do my utmost to teach each and every one of you well. Now, listen carefully to my words. I am not using the word 'I don't want you to,' but 'I will not allow it!' And I will absolutely not allow any of my students to suffer a terrible Transfiguration accident!"
"Otherwise—" He waved his wand, the window opened, and Fire Dragon spread its wings and soared into the sky where no one could see it, "Please do not appear in my class."
Sean stood with his hands behind his back, looking calmly at everyone.
"I have remembered what Professor McGonagall taught me, and now I ask you to remember it as well."
"Revere Transfiguration."
