Last month, when I was asking for votes, I thought, "Why not? Maybe I'll get lucky." But when I glanced at the ticket results when I woke up on the last day, I knew there was no hope.

I just didn't expect that we would achieve our goal in the end, which put me in a very passive position—I thought it wouldn't work because I hadn't prepared any drafts beforehand...

I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to the generous patron [Duke of Loyalty and Valor] for the generous donation, and even more so for your book review. I had a lot of things I wanted to say to flatter you, but I ended up deleting them after typing a whole bunch. From an author's perspective, writing a good book is the only way forward.

I would also like to thank the other readers who have subscribed, given rewards, and voted. Without your support, I wouldn't have been able to keep going until now.

As an emo kid who lacks self-confidence and craves recognition since childhood, being able to gain some people's favor through writing is probably the kind of feeling I've always longed for.

Then there's the update issue, which everyone is probably more concerned about. Well, I definitely have to say something about it.

I won't set a specific time or number, because due to personal reasons, my schedule and work have been unstable lately. I just had a physical exam and also encountered some health problems (my 20-day fitness plan had to be abandoned due to illness...).

However, I will not reduce the number of chapters that need to be added, so please rest assured. If I don't write enough words, I will expand the chapter for that day into a long chapter of five or six thousand words, so that you won't keep saying that I am cutting off chapters. But for a reader, is that called cutting off chapters? That is called keeping suspense to enhance the reading experience.

Last month I updated with a little over 120,000 words. This month I'm setting a small goal to write at least 40,000 more words, which translates to at least ten more chapters. Please keep me accountable.

Okay, after saying so much, the truth is I can't write anything today. I just finished a medical check-up and have a bunch of things to take care of. I took leave at the beginning of the month, which makes me feel ashamed.
