Before Sean could finish, Stephanie seized the initiative once again.
She seemed determined not to let Sean say a single word, intent only on crushing all his defenses.
And although Stephanie always liked to put up a brave front after being thoroughly defeated, leaving behind remarks like, "Next time I'll definitely win—" "You used underhanded tricks this time—" or "I wasn't in good shape today, so it doesn't count—," the girl was not actually all that competitive. She surrendered when it was time to surrender, and when she wanted to give up, she never hesitated.
The war between them had always been this harmonious.
But today, Stephanie seemed like a different person. Not only had she held out against Sean's fiercest initial offensive, she had even launched an utterly shameless surprise attack during the truce.
Taking advantage of Sean's inattention, Stephanie struck from the shadows and pressed forward with all her forces, nearly catching him completely off guard.
Still, Sean had maintained a perfect record against Stephanie. Though his formation had briefly faltered in the early stages and he had nearly surrendered, he eventually reclaimed the initiative through sheer willpower and tenacious resistance.
What he never expected was that just as Sean breathed a sigh of relief, Stephanie—who had already cast aside her armor and fallen into complete disarray—launched another attack as if blessed by the heavens.
This time, she completely seized the initiative.
What followed was another long battle.
Looking at the beautiful sight before him, Sean narrowed his eyes slightly and counted to himself.

Stephanie had truly been overly proactive today.
That was why he had intended to say a few words during their most recent truce.
Who would have thought that Stephanie would not even allow him to submit a
