Yes, life could not be redone, but many things could be attempted again and again. Of course, lost time was gone forever, and neither your failures nor successes in the past would happen again.
However, wizards had an opportunity to redo "life."

Of course, what the Time-Turner brought was not rebirth in the usual sense, but rather an extra stretch of time.
Unfortunately, returning to the past generally could not change anything. At the very least, the understanding you had formed in that past could not be changed. What could be changed were things you had not realized in the past, and everything had to happen in secret. After all, two identical people could not meet at the same point in time.
But Sean had a cheat.
Back in the Annihilated Timeline, Sean had been able to use the points belonging to his original self from that already annihilated Timeline for Lottery Draws. That had truly happened, yet it was nothing more than a memory. Still, Sean's Lottery Draw had succeeded, and the prize had even been brought into the present world.
In other words, everything related to the system was determined by Sean's current state.
And Sean's reason for taking the Time-Turner was simple: he wanted to see whether he could exploit this bug.
