Background / History

Tang San originated as an outer disciple of the Tang Sect in another world. He stole its inner sect cultivation methods and hidden weapons, an act that made him a traitor by Tang Sect standards; after arriving on Douluo Continent, he intends to establish a new Tang Sect under his own name. 33 161

Tang Hao initially found Tang San suspicious because of his unusual maturity and mysterious cultivation method. Tang Hao began treating him as his true son only after Tang San awakened the Blue Silver Grass and Clear Sky Hammer as Twin Martial Souls, seeing in him the prospect of restoring the Clear Sky Sect. 4 96

At Shrek Academy, Tang San recognizes Luo Ye's extraordinary talent and considers recruiting him, Dai Mubai, Oscar, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong into his future Tang Sect. 33

Tang San is calculating and transactional. He evaluates allies by their usefulness to his future Tang Sect, including his alliance with Dai Mubai; while promising to support Dai Mubai's bid for the Star Luo throne, he privately remains willing to switch sides if Dai Weisi offers greater benefits. 33 161

He is pragmatic in crises, choosing to flee the Titan Giant Ape rather than attempt to rescue Zhao Wuji. His stated plan to avenge Zhao Wuji is tied to eventually obtaining a hundred-thousand-year Soul Ring for his Clear Sky Hammer. 59

Tang San is deeply affected by Xiao Wu's departure and realizes only after losing her that his feelings had become romantic. However, his search for Ah Yin exposes a ruthless side: he supports Tang Hao's violent interrogation of Holy Spirit Village and personally kills Old Jack when the elder refuses to provide information. 99 117 118
