Personality

Tang Hao is intensely protective of Tang San, but his protection is often expressed through coercion and overwhelming violence. He threatens Shrek Academy's staff, beats Flender and Zhao Wuji into submission, and later nearly kills them after learning of Tang San's low-level Soul Rings. 29 97

He is also capable of strategic restraint. History

According to Luo Ye's diary, Tang Hao discovered Xiao Wu's identity as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast early on and secretly followed her and Tang San. The diary alleges that he intended to preserve her until Tang San could absorb her Soul Ring and Spirit Bone. 3 30 Luo Ye's diary further alleges that Tang Hao accepted Tang San as his son after seeing his talent and twin Martial Souls, despite suspecting him of being an Outer Realm Heavenly Demon. 4

Tang Hao appears at Shrek Academy shortly after Tang San enrolls. He threatens Flender and Zhao Wuji to guarantee Tang San's safety, then defeats both men with little effort. 29 He orders them not to reveal his identity to Tang San and demands that they keep Tang San from harm. 29

When Tang Hao later learns that Tang San has absorbed four ten-year Soul Rings, he regards the news as a catastrophic blow to his son's future and nearly kills Flender, Zhao Wuji, and Yu Xiaogang. 96 97 Yu Xiaogang convinces him that the rings may someday be replaced, prompting Tang Hao to postpone revenge while he clings to that possibility. 97 98

Tang Hao then attempts to kill Luo Ye, whom Shrek blames for Tang San's Soul Ring situation.
