Bommer hated that cold-blooded, ruthless, and devious Godwin to the bone. But the more he hated him, the more he understood that he could not lose his head now or let his judgment be clouded by the opponent's taunts.
Water Goddess Aqua Aria did not seem particularly threatening on her own. The opponent's consecutive summons were probably just bait, trying to make him use Giant Bomber Air Raid's once-per-turn summon-negation effect.
Fishman Gunner and Water Goddess Aqua Aria alone could not break this situation. The opponent's intention was undoubtedly a Synchro Summon. In that case, all he had to do was destroy the Synchro Monster the instant the opponent tuned their monsters and summoned it. That would blow up all the monsters used as Synchro Materials in one go, maximizing the depletion of the opponent's resources.
Not to mention that Water Goddess Aqua Aria had been Special Summoned. Bommer had not forgotten that Godwin had not even used his Normal Summon this turn. He could still summon another monster from his hand for a Synchro Summon, perhaps even bringing out a powerful monster with an effect capable of breaking this deadlock.
