Killing intent was an abstract thing, invisible and untouchable, something one could only sense entirely by feeling. If anything, only duelists within the arena could possibly perceive it.
Though the two of them were also involved, they had been wholly focused on the duel until just now and had not given much thought to anything else. Now, prompted by Yusei's reminder, they thought back and suddenly realized that Godwin really had not displayed any particularly intense killing intent throughout this duel.
That was not the impression given by someone who intended to settle life and death through a Dark Duel.
Of course, this was only intuition, not solid evidence. It was difficult to make any definite judgment based on such a feeling alone. The point Yusei raised was merely a doubt; any further conclusion would have to rest on his own trust in the person known as "Godwin."
Lua and Ruka, standing outside the arena, were still young and did not think too deeply about it. But when Aki Izayoi heard Yusei's words, her heart also skipped a beat.
In truth, she had always harbored doubts about "Godwin" suddenly turning hostile, claiming that he wanted to open the Underworld Gate and had merely used them Signers. Thus, when Yusei pointed it out, she was not overly surprised. Instead, she felt that Yusei had indeed been thinking the same thing.
But what surprised her was that Yusei claimed this person was not Godwin.
Why? Then who else could he be?
