NO.96 Black Mist, revive!
"Next, I activate the Spell Card 'Xyz Treasure'!" Black Mist said. "For each Xyz Monster on the Field, this card lets me draw one card from my Deck.
There are currently two Xyz Monsters on the Field, 'NO.16 Gagaga Dominator' and 'NO.96 Black Mist,' so I draw two cards from my Deck!"
Black Mist drew two cards.
"Then I set two cards and End Turn." Black Mist set cards in his Back Row.
This turn, Black Mist was still bound by Gagaga Dominator's confinement. He could not activate effects or attack. But as the turn ended, that confinement vanished as well.
The electric arcs surging across the Field gradually faded, and the purple energy dispersed bit by bit. The dim mist around Black Mist grew dense once more, while even the Xyz Material orbiting him seemed to regain some of its color.
"My Turn, Draw a Card." Kira drew.
After drawing, he paused and narrowed his eyes.
"Xyz Revival is a Trap Card. You could have waited until my turn to activate it. Or, if I tried to blow it away with something like 'Mystical Space Typhoon,' you could have chained it then.
But you chose to revive Black Mist during your own turn—even though Black Mist could not attack this turn after being revived. Why?"
Black Mist said nothing.
Yuma was also stunned. "R-right, he could have just waited until Kira's next turn to revive Black Mist. Trap Cards can be used during the opponent's turn, after all."
"Think about it. If he had not revived Black Mist last turn and had simply Set two more cards in his Back Row before ending his turn, then he would have had no Monsters on the Field, only Set Cards, right?" Kira said.
