Skeleton after skeleton wore armor, dangerous green markings glowing on their foreheads as they advanced menacingly with swords and shields in hand. Joey had already assumed a boxer's guard, looking ready to rush forward and start throwing punches at the skeletal warriors the moment they made any sudden move.
Joey was fully aware of his role as the party's warrior and tank. Whenever his friends faced anyone and a fight broke out, Joey Wheeler was always the first to charge in.
But today's situation had clearly gone beyond what fists could solve. Atem swiftly unfolded his old-fashioned Duel Disk, drawing a card from his Deck into his hand as he reminded Joey, "Joey, use Duel Monsters!"
As he spoke, a golden glow flashed from the Millennium Puzzle on his chest, and he slapped a Monster Card onto his Duel Disk. Atem shouted, "Dark Magician!"
The legendary servant from across the millennia leaped forth through the Duel Disk system. His emerald staff spun twice in his hand before a dark magical Light Orb blasted out. It struck a skeletal Monster in the chest, instantly blowing both it and its armor to pieces.
Joey suddenly understood. "We can do that too! All right, then I'm in."
As he spoke, he unfolded his Duel Disk as well.

Boiling magma surged into the sky, taking the form of a black dragon in midair. The dragon spat a scorching sphere from its mouth, and the blazing fireball instantly blasted several skeletal Monsters into ashes.
But the skeletons seemed endless. The moment a few were destroyed, even more poured in from every direction. The skeletal warriors formed an encirclement, steadily advancing as the ring tightened.
