The white helicopter slowly descended. Before it even reached the ground, a white figure leaped from the open cabin.
The tails of his trench coat billowed like a cape as he landed in a classic superhero three-point stance. The man slowly rose to his feet, revealing those sharply defined eyes, as keen as blades.
President Seto Kaiba had arrived.
Seeing that the President was just as arrogantly stylish in every dimension, Kira immediately felt relieved, filled with an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
President Seto Kaiba gave him an extra glance, but quickly paid him no further attention. To the President, Kira was probably just some new playmate Yugi had recently picked up. Given what he knew of Yugi, that likely did not seem strange at all.
Kaiba had always felt that Yugi, his personally designated arch-rival, was perfect in every way except for his habit of hanging around with a crowd of men and women, playing those childish friendship games all day. It had always rubbed him the wrong way.
In the President's eyes, the strong should be like lone wolves: proud, cool, and walking the lonely yet dashing path of a conqueror. Yugi's constant clinginess with others looked to him like weaklings huddling together for warmth, and it was unpleasant no matter how he looked at it. Yet he simply could not beat Yugi, which made it even more infuriating.
"Kaiba," Yugi said. "You came too."
Kaiba's gaze swept over the three of them. "Your Friendship Game has reached America now?"
The moment Joey Wheeler heard him speak, veins popped on his forehead. "Kaiba, you bastard—"
But Yugi had long grown used to Kaiba's daily taunts and did not mind. "Kaiba, did Pegasus invite you here too?"
"Oh?" Kaiba said. "So you were invited as well?"
"Yeah." Yugi nodded.
