Having discovered the proper way to enter the Spirit World, Kira was no longer quite so nervous. After thinking it over, he realized he had entered through the stone slab in the ruins, but after arriving, he had not seen anything resembling a slab or a door nearby.
So how was he supposed to get back?
He thought for a moment and looked at his spirit. "Silent, what do you think?"
Silent Magician shook her head, apparently without any clue either. The Spirit World was vast, and while it was collectively called the Spirit World, it was actually divided into many different dimensions. This place did not seem to be one she was familiar with. But after tilting her head in thought, she raised a hand and pointed toward the foot of the hill not far away.
Following where she pointed, Kira saw what looked like a town.
"I see. Ask the local spirits?"
There really was no better option for now. The ordinary residents of the Spirit World in the anime had generally been quite friendly. Perhaps the locals knew a way out.
Kira made his way down the hill and arrived at the town. The streets were paved with bluestone, their surfaces marked by the weathering of countless years. The buildings were made of white brick and stone, their windows set with colored glass, their walls carved with intricate totems and patterns, along with writing and symbols he could not recognize.
The strange thing was that there was not a single person in the city.
The shops stood alone, their doors and windows tightly shut. Hanging signs swayed gently in the wind, while the breeze swept up scattered leaves with a rustling sound.
"Is this normal in the Spirit World?" Kira asked.
