An unknown location.
A grand hall stood towering overhead, its vast space seemingly able to accommodate an army of thousands. Its lofty ceiling pierced toward the heavens, while white light converged from every direction and poured down without restraint, bathing the entire hall in a dazzling radiance.
Men and women in white uniforms gathered within the hall. They faced the towering dais, where a man in a long white coat stood. He had refined features and a pair of thin, drooping mustaches.
This was the headquarters of the Society of Light.
In truth, the Society of Light was a rather loosely managed organization. Members from its various branches rarely gathered in person, as there was little need to.
Most of them served only their own branches and seldom even met one another. Yet they all knew whom they served—or rather, whom they worshipped.
Saiō Takuma, the founder of the Society, was a godlike existence in their eyes. Everyone who joined the Society firmly believed that Lord Saiō represented the ultimate truth of the universe. Saiō had made each of them believe that the world's fate had a right path and a wrong path.
And joining the Society of Light and following Saiō was the most correct fate of all.
But now, they had just received terrible news.
Lord Saiō had fallen.
"Impossible! That's absolutely impossible!"
Someone shouted furiously.
"Lord Saiō's fate is absolute! His existence itself is the Justice of the Universe! I refuse to believe it. His fate cannot end, and it must not end like this!"
