The Doll Broke

Kira applauded in praise.

However, although she had summoned her ace, Alice had already used up her Battle Phase while preparing to summon this Doll Chimera. She could not attack this turn and could only end her turn first.

"Then it's My Turn. Draw."

He slowly flipped over the set monster card on his Field.

"Since you didn't attack it, I'll flip it myself.

"Flip Summon 'Magical Merchant.'

"When this card is flipped, excavate cards from the Top of Deck until a Spell/Trap appears. Add the first Spell/Trap excavated to my hand, and send all other excavated cards to the Graveyard."

"Randomly getting a Spell/Trap?" Alice asked.

"Then I'll start flipping." Kira unhurriedly revealed the first card. "The first card, a monster card. Sent to Graveyard."

Over the next few moments, Alice's eyes widened more and more as she watched him toss nearly half his Deck into the Graveyard.

"The tenth card, a monster card. Sent to Graveyard."

"The twentieth card, a monster card. Sent to Graveyard."

"The twenty-seventh card, a monster card. Sent to Graveyard."

Alice's tiny mouth involuntarily formed an O.

"Y-You, how...?"

Kira smiled and gestured at his thick Deck.

"My Deck has a total of sixty cards." He grinned. "Want to guess how many Spell/Traps are in it?"

Alice: "..."

"..."

"The thirty-second card—aha, finally." Kira revealed a Trap Card in his hand. "The only Trap in my Deck. I add this card to my hand, and all thirty-one previous cards are Sent to Graveyard."

Alice numbly watched him throw half his Deck away, her little head full of enormous question marks.
