Alice, the Puppet Spirit, sat on the ground with her legs tucked beneath her, staring blankly at the cards scattered all around her. It took her a long while to come back to her senses.

Her Deck was strewn everywhere, especially since she used the Doll Parts Deck. Doll arms lay here, doll legs there, with several doll heads mixed in between. The sight made it look as though her opponent had taken her apart piece by piece.

"This is too much. This is really too much."

Alice protested inwardly.

To be fair, she had come today with the mission of "dragging her opponent into the Abyss of Despair." Through a Duel, she was supposed to make powerful Duelists lose faith in Dueling, perhaps even cure them of their Dueling Addiction and make them swear off card games forever.

But now, it seemed more like she was the spirit about to be cured of her Dueling Addiction.

Alice rubbed her eyes. Small and delicate, she looked as though someone had punched her, slumped on the floor and ready to burst into tears at any moment.

Something as difficult to summon as Doll Chimera required Alice herself plus four Normal Monster components. It had taken everything she had to bring it out in one turn. Not only had no one praised her for it, but her opponent had immediately blown it up five times in a single turn, leaving nothing behind.

For a moment, Alice felt that she might have been a little foolish for exhausting herself to summon such a huge monster.

Then, after her opponent finished blowing it up and casually pulled out an alchemical behemoth with over eight thousand ATK, Alice became certain.
