In the dark of night, amid the wilderness woods, a series of crisp claps rang out.
Having just finished a satisfying duel, Judai put away his Duel Disk and looked toward the sound. He saw his good friend Kira and Joey Wheeler emerge from the trees, walking toward him. Kira gave his recent performance a round of enthusiastic applause.
"Kira, Joey?" Judai said in surprise. "You're here?"
"Just got back," Kira said.
Joey said, "I took Kira's private jet. He gave me a lift."
As he said that, he could not help showing an expression of envy, jealousy, and resentment.
"Damn it! That cheap Kaiba has been Targeting me for ten years now. He won't even replace my Duel Disk with a newer model, yet he gives someone else a private jet."
Judai laughed and patted his shoulder. "Ah, don't worry about it. Kira and president Kaiba have a special relationship, after all."
"Is that so?"
Joey wore a suspicious expression.
"What kind of special relationship?"
"I don't really know either." Judai scratched his head. "I only heard that they were close. A lot of Kira's cards seem to have come from KaibaCorp too."
"What?!"
Joey's eyes widened. Recalling how Kaiba had Targeted him his entire life, he could not help turning to look at Kira.
"Rumors." Kira put on an innocent look. "President Kaiba and I have only met a few times. We're not actually close."
Joey looked suspiciously again at the latest Duel Disk model in Kira's hand, one that KaibaCorp had not officially released.
"Then what about that?"
Kira nodded. "Yeah, KaibaCorp gave it to me."
"Rare Cards?"
Kira nodded again. "That did happen."
"Your plane?"
Kira tilted his head and thought for a moment.
"Kaiba's."
