"Meow meow meow?"

"Hello? Is the phone connected, meow?"

A string of feline greetings came from the other end of the line. Kira responded casually while working at his desk in his private laboratory.

"I'm here, I'm here. What is it, Professor?"

"You know I'm your professor, yet you still assigned me so much work." Daitokuji sighed repeatedly, lamenting the hardships of a cat's life.

"If you only called to request less work—"

"That's not it."

Daitokuji spoke casually.

"I've made a little progress with that Insect Boy we captured last time. Their sect, called the Descending Sect, has the ultimate goal of bringing about the descent of some Evil God."

"An Evil God? Did they say which Evil God?" Kira asked.

"No. They all just call it the Evil God."

Kira found that strange. "Even the sect members themselves call the god they worship an Evil God?"

That was certainly unusual. There was no shortage of bizarre sects, but the gods of such groups were usually only called Evil Gods by outsiders. Their own members generally believed that the deity they worshipped was the True God, guiding them toward the light and the correct path, or something along those lines.

If a god's own title was Evil God, that was quite novel.

"All right, so we don't know which god it is. But since you called, I assume we've learned something?" Kira asked.

"Of course. Insect Boy knew a little more than that Dinosaur Boy from last time. Of the two, Insect Boy was responsible for handing over missions. We got the location of a gathering place for their followers.
